Chapter 62 - The World Watches Back

The station could no longer hold reality together.

Sections of the floor flickered between existence and emptiness.

Walls appeared—

Then vanished.

Light bent unnaturally through fractured space while distorted system symbols spread across the air itself.

Everything—

Was breaking.

And above it all—

The Observer watched.

The massive eye-like distortion remained suspended above the collapsing station, silent and impossible.

Not fully present.

Not fully absent.

But enough to terrify even the system itself.

[ OBSERVER MANIFESTATION DETECTED ]

[ REALITY STABILITY CRITICAL ]

[ ABSOLUTE CORRECTION RELEASED ]

The Absolute unit stepped forward.

Its body no longer looked stable.

White cracks spread across its armor-like surface as violent system energy leaked from inside it.

"…Final correction authorized," it said.

But even its voice sounded unstable now.

Distorted.

Breaking.

Noah's expression hardened immediately.

"…It's forcing everything into one correction."

Mira looked toward him sharply.

"…Meaning?"

A brief silence.

Then—

"…It's going to erase this entire section of the city."

The station trembled violently.

Far above them—

The city lights flickered all at once.

Aarav stared upward toward the Observer.

That massive distorted eye remained focused directly on him.

Watching.

Choosing.

Waiting.

"…Why me?" he muttered quietly.

For a brief moment—

The Observer pulsed.

A response.

Not words.

Not sound.

But meaning.

Aarav's eyes widened slightly.

"…Because I changed the pattern…"

The air pulsed again.

Confirmation.

Noah looked toward him instantly.

"…It answered you?"

"…Yeah."

Mira stepped closer.

"…What did it say?"

Aarav remained silent for a moment.

Still staring upward.

Then quietly—

"…The system wasn't supposed to evolve this far."

Silence.

Heavy.

Dangerous.

The Absolute unit suddenly moved.

Fast.

Violent.

No longer controlled.

No longer precise.

Desperate.

Aarav reacted instantly.

Noah moved with him.

The three forces collided at the center of the collapsing station.

BOOOOM.

Reality shattered outward.

The remaining platform cracked apart completely.

Distorted space exploded around Noah while white correction energy surged from the Absolute unit.

Aarav pushed directly through both.

Not reacting.

Not adapting.

Choosing.

The Absolute unit attacked again.

Its strikes no longer perfect.

But stronger.

Far more destructive.

A single missed strike erased half the station wall instantly.

"…It's unstable!" Mira shouted.

"…Because the Observer is disrupting it," Noah replied.

"…And it knows it's losing."

The Absolute unit raised both hands.

White system symbols spread across the entire station ceiling.

[ FINAL REALITY CORRECTION INITIALIZING ]

The pressure became unbearable.

Even breathing felt difficult now.

Noah's distortion surged violently around him.

"…Aarav!"

Aarav turned slightly.

"…What?"

"…If that correction activates fully…"

Noah's eyes sharpened.

"…Everything here disappears."

Silence.

A faint smile appeared on Aarav's face.

"…Then we stop it before that."

The Absolute unit moved again.

Final phase.

Everything it had left.

Aarav stepped forward immediately.

So did Noah.

For the first time—

They moved together perfectly.

Chaos and choice.

Distortion and disruption.

The Absolute unit tried correcting their movements.

Tried aligning reality around them.

Tried forcing control.

But now—

Nothing stayed stable long enough.

The Observer's presence intensified sharply.

The massive eye above them flickered wider open.

Reality screamed.

And suddenly—

The system froze.

Just for a second.

That moment—

Was enough.

"…NOW!" Noah shouted.

Aarav moved.

Faster than ever before.

Not guided by the system.

Not guided by the Observer.

Only by himself.

The Absolute unit tried reacting—

Too late.

Aarav struck directly into the center of its chest.

CRACK.

The fracture spread instantly across its entire body.

White system light burst violently outward.

The Absolute unit staggered backward.

Its form breaking apart.

"…Correction…" it said weakly.

"…Failed."

Aarav stepped forward one last time.

His eyes calm.

Focused.

Certain.

"…Yeah."

A faint smile appeared.

"…That's the point."

He struck again.

And the Absolute unit shattered completely.

A wave of unstable energy exploded through the station.

The correction field collapsed instantly.

The Observer's manifestation flickered violently overhead.

Then—

Everything went silent.

The distortion above slowly faded.

The massive eye disappearing back into fractured space.

Watching until the very end.

The station stopped collapsing.

Reality stabilized slowly.

Broken.

Damaged.

But still existing.

Mira fell to one knee, breathing heavily.

"…Is it over?"

Noah stared upward quietly.

"…No."

A pause.

"…This was just the warning."

Far away—

Inside the observation room—

Every system monitor went dark simultaneously.

Completely black.

No alarms.

No signals.

Nothing.

Silence filled the room.

Until finally—

One screen flickered back on.

A single line appearing slowly across it.

[ OBSERVER PRIORITY CONFIRMED ]

Dr. Veer stared at the message silently.

Then quietly said—

"…The world just changed."
