Chapter 74 - Fractured Sky

The world saw it.

For the first time—

Everyone saw it.

The sky above the city cracked with massive dark fractures spreading across the correction lattice like broken glass.

Not clouds.

Not weather.

Something else.

Something wrong.

People stopped in the streets.

Vehicles halted mid-route.

Entire districts stared upward in silence as reality itself flickered faintly overhead.

And then—

Panic began.

Across global networks, emergency broadcasts activated instantly.

[ STABILITY DISTORTION DETECTED ]

[ PLEASE REMAIN CALM ]

[ CORRECTION UNDERWAY ]

But calm was already gone.

Inside the stabilization district—

The battle intensified violently.

The Stabilizer units adapted faster than expected.

Their synchronization weapons shifted patterns continuously now, forcing correction fields directly into distorted space itself.

Noah barely avoided one correction blast as an entire building vanished behind him instantly.

"…Okay," he muttered.

"…Now this is excessive."

Aarav moved through the collapsing battlefield at full speed.

Correction blasts erased streets around him while synchronization pressure crushed downward from every direction.

But the Observer fractures above disrupted system alignment continuously.

Every correction attempt became unstable.

Every synchronization pulse delayed slightly.

Enough for irregulars to survive.

The first Stabilizer attacked again.

A massive correction weapon aimed directly at Aarav's position.

The blast fired.

Reality bent violently toward him.

Trying to erase him completely.

Aarav stepped wrong.

Again.

The correction passed beside him—

Barely.

Then he struck directly into the Stabilizer's core.

CRACK.

The unit staggered backward violently.

Synchronization symbols flickering across its body.

[ LOCAL STABILITY FAILURE DETECTED ]

"…Good," Aarav muttered.

"…Break more."

Far away—

Public fear spread faster than the system could suppress it.

Videos of fractured skies flooded global networks before correction teams erased them.

People reported seeing distortions moving through buildings.

Awakened individuals began losing synchronization mid-combat.

Correction forces appeared openly in populated cities for the first time.

The illusion of control was collapsing.

Inside the observation room—

Analysts worked frantically to stabilize system communication lines.

"…Synchronization loss spreading internationally."

"…Public awareness threshold exceeded."

"…Correction secrecy impossible to maintain."

The leader stared silently at the global projections.

"…The system can't hide anymore."

Dr. Veer adjusted his glasses slowly.

Then quietly said—

"…No."

A pause.

"…And neither can the Observer."

Back in the district—

The correction lattice above the city suddenly pulsed violently.

The fractures spread wider instantly.

Then—

Something moved behind them.

Not clearly.

Not fully.

But enough.

A gigantic distorted shape shifted behind the fractured sky itself.

Watching.

Waiting.

Impossible.

Every Stabilizer unit froze briefly.

[ OBSERVER PRESENCE ESCALATING ]

[ PRIORITY SHIFT INITIATED ]

Noah's expression darkened instantly.

"…That's bad."

Mira looked upward in shock.

"…What even is that thing?"

No one answered.

Because no one knew.

The Observer fractures pulsed again.

Hard enough to distort the entire district.

Several correction barriers collapsed instantly.

Synchronization grids failed across nearby sectors.

And for the first time—

The system hesitated.

Aarav noticed immediately.

"…It's afraid."

The Stabilizers reacted aggressively at once.

All units redirected toward him simultaneously.

[ PRIMARY VARIABLE IDENTIFIED ]

[ OBSERVER ALIGNMENT INCREASING ]

"…Yeah."

A faint smile appeared.

"…I figured."

Noah distorted the battlefield violently again.

Multiple Stabilizers lost synchronization for a split second.

Enough.

Aarav rushed forward immediately.

Strike.

Shift.

Counter.

One Stabilizer shattered completely.

Another collapsed moments later.

The correction lattice flickered violently above the city.

Unstable.

Breaking.

Then—

Every system screen across the district activated simultaneously.

[ GLOBAL CORRECTION PHASE TWO INITIATED ]

Silence fell instantly.

Even Noah stopped moving briefly.

"…Phase Two?" Mira whispered.

Riven's voice came through the communication channel immediately.

Shaken.

"…They're deploying city-scale correction."

The battlefield froze for a moment.

Because everyone understood what that meant.

The system was escalating again.

And this time—

Entire cities would become targets.
