Chapter 76 - Core Breach

The city was collapsing.

Not into ruin.

Into correction.

Buildings twisted into unnatural geometric structures while synchronization barriers cut entire districts apart like invisible walls dividing reality itself.

Every street.

Every signal.

Every movement—

Controlled.

And at the center of it all—

The stabilization tower continued glowing brighter.

Aarav moved straight toward it.

Correction fields crushed against him continuously, trying to lock his existence into synchronization.

Trying to stop him.

But every time the system aligned—

The Observer fractures disrupted it again.

Enough.

Always enough.

Noah landed violently behind him as multiple Stabilizer units descended from above.

"…Keep moving!" Noah shouted.

His distortion exploded outward instantly.

Reality fractured across the streets as entire correction formations lost synchronization simultaneously.

The Stabilizers retaliated immediately.

Correction blasts tore through distorted space while synchronization pressure slammed downward hard enough to crack entire roads apart.

Noah laughed through the chaos.

"…Yeah."

Dark fractures spread around him violently.

"…Now this feels familiar."

Back near the resistance sectors—

Mira struggled to maintain broken synchronization pathways while irregular groups evacuated civilians trapped inside correction zones.

"…The barriers are spreading too fast!" Riven shouted through the unstable communication network.

Mira destroyed another correction node with a burst of unstable energy.

"…Then break them faster!"

Above them—

The fractured sky pulsed violently again.

People across the city watched the Observer distort reality itself overhead while system structures flickered uncontrollably beneath it.

The world could no longer deny what was happening.

Inside the observation room—

Half the monitors had already gone dark.

Correction failures spread faster than analysts could process them.

"…The stabilization tower is destabilizing."

"…Observer interference increasing globally."

"…Correction synchronization failing in multiple cities."

The leader stared toward the collapsing data streams.

"…The system is losing."

Dr. Veer remained silent for a moment.

Then quietly—

"…No."

A pause.

"…It's evolving."

Back near the tower—

Aarav finally reached the outer core barrier.

A massive wall of rotating synchronization symbols blocked the entrance entirely.

The air around it felt wrong.

Absolute.

[ CORE STABILITY ZONE ACTIVE ]

[ UNAUTHORIZED VARIABLE DETECTED ]

Aarav stepped forward anyway.

The barrier reacted instantly.

White correction energy surged outward violently.

Trying to erase him completely.

Pain shot through his body immediately.

Not physical.

Existential.

Like reality itself rejected him.

But he kept moving.

"…You really don't stop, do you?" Noah muttered through the communication channel.

A faint smile appeared on Aarav's face.

"…Not when something tells me I can't."

The Observer fractures pulsed sharply overhead.

The synchronization barrier flickered for a split second.

Enough.

Aarav struck the barrier directly.

CRACK.

The synchronization wall shattered violently outward.

[ CORE BREACH DETECTED ]

Every system structure in the city reacted instantly.

The correction lattice above pulsed uncontrollably.

Synchronization pressure surged across every district simultaneously.

And deep inside the tower—

Something awakened.

The core chamber opened slowly.

White light flooded outward through the broken entrance while unstable system symbols rotated endlessly within the structure.

Aarav stepped inside.

And stopped.

The core wasn't mechanical.

Wasn't technological.

It was alive.

A massive floating sphere of shifting white patterns hovered at the center of the chamber, pulsing like a heartbeat.

Reality bent unnaturally around it.

"…So this is what controls the city," Aarav muttered quietly.

Then—

The sphere reacted.

The entire chamber trembled violently.

System symbols flooded across the walls instantly.

[ PRIMARY VARIABLE ENTERED CORE ]

[ EMERGENCY CORRECTION ABSOLUTE ]

The white sphere pulsed harder.

Faster.

Angrier.

And then—

It spoke.

"…Observer-aligned existence detected."

Aarav's eyes narrowed slightly.

"…You can talk too."

"…Correction required."

The core chamber sealed instantly.

Synchronization walls locking down around him from every direction.

Outside the tower—

Noah's expression changed immediately.

"…Aarav?"

Silence.

Then—

The entire tower pulsed violently.

Noah looked upward sharply.

"…That's bad."
