SOLVEIL - CITADEL - ROYAL CHAMBERS 12:30 AM
Two hours of sleep. That's what the universe gave Landon Solveil.
The sound that woke him was small. She had stirred for the first time and his eyes snapped open immediately.
His arms tightened around her. "Hey, Guinevere. It's just me. You needed skin-to-skin contact. You're okay."
She didn't answer.
Her light was steady and calm.
"Do you remember me?" he asked, voice rough.
Her eyes opened. But they were glowing molten, pure-wolf gold.
Then a second voice arrived.
"Her light calls for you. Touch her."
Landon went still, like something inside him recognized the voice even if he didn't himself.
"I am the voice of light," she said. "Given to the chosen blessed by three, watched by two, and carved in the image of one. A Goddess-chosen Luminari queen."
White runes started forming on her skin. They spiraled from her shoulders down her arms, across her ribs and the curves of her breasts.
