Chapter 2 - Ọgbịgba Chineke (The Spark of Fate and Destiny)

At the time when the universe was a void, endless pit and without form, two forces floated around in an endless circle seemingly avoiding each other. All of a sudden, they collided and there was a huge water explosion...

They all turn to look at each other, they can see each other but can't necessarily behold their very selves. It's safe for them to assume they all look like each other.

In confusion still, they look around and beneath them, nothing, nothing but an endless bottomless pit. One of them floats up, she hits a dead end, she comes back down. The rest three stay put though they're being swayed from side to side by another one of them.

Soon that one swaying loses control of her waves and sends the one who went above crashing into a third of them and the one whom was crashed into loses her grip and begins dropping down fast. The first one regains her stamina by trying to shield herself and she forms a semi gaseous, solid base but that's the least of her worries. She goes rushing after the one who's falling and catching up with her they both try to shield themselves and they drop on a semi solid wet base.

"What the hell just happened?" She asks opening her eyes. The fallen one shrugs.

"Ok people, I really don't know what's going on here, who we are and what all these is but Nne, that base, platform stuff you birthed up there, Ọmaka. It's just too beautiful and oddly comfortable." The Quiet one calls out as she and the wavy one comes alighting down after them.

"You really think so?" The first one asks and the quiet one nods. The first continues. "Girl, you're so bright, like your darkness is shining... I don't even know how that's possible, Melanin, Anyanwụ, Eye of Light, Nne daalu biko."

"I believe I see what's going on here, we're giving each other names for identity right? Afa. I like that. Well I got waves mọ wings, Nku, so I'll go by..."

"Ikuku, Air..." The fallen one says.

"No, I kinda like the sound of Ifufu though..."

"Babes, Ifufu will be for when the hormones are acting up, like, you know, we're Women and stuff, anyị bu Ụmụ Nwaanyị, Ụmụ as in "a lot of" or plural of something right? Ehen and Nwaanyị as in "Our Child" because Children are one of the symbols of Life asides us Women, we will be Women, so in other words, Nwaanyị has two meanings, "Our Children" or "Our Life". I prefer our Life though because We are the Life givers. We made this, we made that, and we have to protect what we've birthed." The bright one, Anyanwụ says.

They look to her still a bit confused but simply shrugs.

"Well then, I guess I'll need a name like you Girls." The fallen one says.

"Yes, you need a name like we Girls have now, anyị bu ụmụ Agbọ. So let's go by this way, idalụ anị, you fell and birthed all these, so you'll be called Earth, Anị. All these will be Earth, Anị or Ala..." Anyanwu says.

"Wait, the liquid stuff didn't come from me, it's the same substance that emerged before we did remember? I woke last... But somehow I know... Weird..." Anị says.

"Nne it's not weird, well I came out first. This," Ọma lowers to feel it. "Came from me, just like I used to soften our emergence and also made that base through these which is in me, I understand that I made these."

"Ok, we'll call it Mmụ lụ, I made... Mmili. Ọma so you've birthed two sources, where will you dwell in particular?" Anyanwụ inquires.

"Biko, I'm staying up, down here is too... Biko kwa nụ."

Ọma begins drifting upwards. The rest look at each other and follow suit.

Getting up, they look around to the only thing beside them.

"Nya, Anyanwụ, so we're just going to lie here and do nothing?" Ọma asks settling on the platform.

"Ọnwa, Ọma let's just stay here and wait for what will happen because me I really don't know again. Either ways, we'll call this Ọnwa, after you." Anyanwụ says.

They all rest on the Ọnwa, the Moon and no sooner had their four bodies just touched Anyanwụ begins to brighten up as if she's going to explode. They all make haste, moving away trying to stay as far from her as possible.

She reaches her peak energy and from her source, a force appears. They see it has two faces one facing East and the other, West.

"Who are you?" Ikuku asks.

"I am Kadu, I am the state of existence, the state of being. I am Fate." East answers.

"I am Ofili or Akalaka, Destiny." West answers. Together we're Chineke, Fate and Destiny."

"We're the enforcers of Chi, one's destiny, one's spirit guide, one's Karma, or one's purpose in each Lifetime." Kadu concurs.

"We're the enforcers of Ọnatarachi, one's natural endowments, one's talents, or one's gift." says Ofili.

"We're Nhazi, predestination or prearrangement or arrangement herself." Kadu says.

"We're Ụzọ Ndu, Life path, or destination." Ofili continues.

"Anyị bu Ihe onye metalu, consequences for one's actions, good or bad." Kadu adds.

"We're Ọfọ na Ọgụ, Karma herself." Ofili says.

"We're Ajọchi, bad Karma." Kadu adds again.

"Chiọma, good Karma." Ofili says.

"We're Ọkelu ụwa, the makers of circumstances." Kadu concludes.

"Nnaa eh, that was a lot." Anyanwụ says. Ọma nods in agreement.

"All these for one person?" Ikuku says.

"They're actually two in one." Ọma corrects.

"All na one being ọịsọ." Anị replies.

"Wait, what have we to do with you people?" Anyanwu asks. "Chi gininwanu?

"Chi na eke, the force that births or creates. Chineke." Ofili answers.

"Alright..." Ọma makes to say.

"We were never supposed to collide, but then we did, we lost control and she," Kadu says pointing at Ọma, "Emerges with water. Then Anyanwụ comes through then Ikuku then finally Anị. You four are the pillars of the world, Ide Ụwa Inọ, the four pillars of the world." East says.

"How did you know our names?" Anyanwụ queries.

Ofili laughs. "Girl, you came from our privacy, we are the knowledge of all existence. Of course we know everything about you and the next billions of years to come...

Ikuku confused just murmurs. "Ok o."

"So what are we supposed to be doing?" Ọma asks.

"Yes, like what did we emerge to do?" Anyanwụ inquires.

"Look, down there, you'll find and begin your purpose of existence..." They all look down and from the waters they see strange creatures emerging, two legged destructive beings with a lot of arms and heads. They were uprooting trees, breaking up mountains and hills and flat out making a mess of the world.

They wriggle their body in disgust. "I won't say they came from you but yeah, they did, deal with it. Life has officially begun." Ofili says.

All eyes turn to Ọma.

"What? Why the hell is y'all looking at me for?" She asks looking around at them.

"They're coming from your domain..." Anị says.

"Girl, they're destroying your own domain..." Ọma says.

"Chineke, what do we do?" Anyanwụ says turning to behold that Chineke were long gone. "Ebe... Ebe ka ha nọ?"

"Where did the Mother go?" Ikuku asks.

"Girls, this is our World. There's no hierarchy or pyramid with us. We're communal like a circle never ending till the time that has no end. If we decide to start doing divisions of labor without first helping each other succeed then we won't have a world to enjoy thereafter." Anyanwụ says.

"Anyanwụ is right..." Anị says.

"The Women say where we're going to go, the Men follow the lead of the Women and take the collective to exactly where the Women say we should go." Goes a voice in their head.

"The fuck owns that voice? Kedụ onye na ekwụ?" Anị asks.

"Wait, I think it's Chineke. Remember, they said they're always by our side..."

"We dwell in you, we are you." The voice goes again.

"They or She?" Ọma asks amidst the voice.

"I prefer them as She." Anyanwụ replies.

"Yeah, me too." Anị adds.

"I think I have an idea. Guys, follow my lead." Ọma says and begins floating down. The rest look at each other, they all shrug and follow suit.
