Chapter 13 - "Burning Emotionally"

Min-Jae immediately entered the room like he owned the place.

The moment he stepped inside—

His eyes widened.

"…BRO."

Do-Yoon closed the door behind him.

"What?"

Min-Jae slowly looked around the room dramatically.

"…Your room is better than mine."

Do-Yoon instantly smirked proudly.

"I told you."

Min-Jae pointed at the balcony.

"YOU HAVE A BALCONY."

"You also have one."

"…Mine is uglier."

"That's not even possible."

Min-Jae ignored him and immediately jumped onto the bed.

Then he froze.

"…BRO."

"What now?"

"This bed is heavenly."

Do-Yoon crossed his arms proudly.

"I know."

Min-Jae rolled around dramatically.

"…I can die peacefully here."

"Please don't."

For a few minutes, both simply talked casually.

Mostly nonsense.

Min-Jae explained how he accidentally got lost inside the academy five different times.

"I entered one hallway and somehow ended up outside the building."

"…How?"

"I don't know."

"And then I saw a guy carrying lightning."

"…What?"

"BRO THIS PLACE IS TERRIFYING."

Do-Yoon laughed slightly.

Honestly—

Having Min-Jae around made things feel easier.

Less stressful.

The world still felt dangerous and confusing, but somehow Min-Jae's stupidity balanced everything.

After calming down a little, Min-Jae suddenly sat up.

"…Bro."

"What?"

"Should we explore the academy?"

Do-Yoon thought for a second.

"…Actually yeah."

They still barely knew anything about this place.

And honestly—

Both were curious.

Very curious.

The academy was gigantic.

There had to be interesting things everywhere.

Min-Jae immediately stood up excitedly.

"LET'S GO."

Do-Yoon grabbed his jacket lazily.

"Relax."

But just as both of them were about to leave—

Knock knock.

Both froze.

Min-Jae looked at the door.

"…Again?"

Do-Yoon opened it slowly.

And the moment he saw the person outside—

His expression changed slightly.

A tall man stood there calmly.

He looked young, maybe in his twenties.

His black hair moved slightly with the wind from the hallway. His face looked sharp and handsome, but his eyes felt cold.

Very cold.

The moment Do-Yoon looked at him—

His body suddenly felt strange.

A heavy pressure touched his chest slightly.

Cold air spread around him.

Do-Yoon unconsciously stepped backward.

"…Huh?"

The man looked at both of them silently.

"…You two are the new students?"

His voice sounded calm.

But heavy.

Min-Jae quickly nodded.

"Yes."

The man crossed his arms.

"The principal sent me."

Do-Yoon blinked.

"…Sent you?"

"To teach you the basics."

Min-Jae's eyes sparkled instantly.

"Ohhh, a teacher!"

The man sighed softly like he already regretted this.

"My name is Mrantor."

Silence.

Do-Yoon blinked.

"…Mran…tor?"

Min-Jae tried too.

"…Mra…ntor?"

The man's face twitched slightly.

"…Mrantor."

Both stayed quiet.

"…That name is difficult," Do-Yoon admitted honestly.

Min-Jae nodded quickly.

"Very difficult."

Mrantor closed his eyes for one second.

"…Every other person pronounces it correctly."

"…Maybe we're special," Min-Jae suggested proudly.

"…No," Mrantor replied immediately.

Do-Yoon tried saying it again.

"Mran…tor?"

"…Close enough."

Min-Jae pointed dramatically.

"BRO HIS NAME SOUNDS STRONG."

Mrantor ignored him completely.

Then his expression became more serious.

"I am not only a teacher."

Both looked at him carefully.

Mrantor continued calmly.

"I am also a Broken."

Silence.

"…A what?" Do-Yoon asked.

"A Broken," Mrantor repeated.

"The ones who stand above Mirrors."

The atmosphere suddenly changed slightly.

Even Min-Jae stopped joking for a moment.

Mrantor's presence already felt powerful before—

But now both of them understood why.

Do-Yoon swallowed slowly.

"…Above Mirrors?"

Mrantor nodded once.

"Mirrors are strong."

"But Brokens are monsters."

The way he said it sounded completely natural.

Like it was simply reality.

Do-Yoon felt that cold pressure again.

His instincts screamed at him quietly.

Danger.

For some reason—

His body could somehow feel Mrantor's energy.

Even though he didn't understand how.

The strange pressure around Mrantor felt overwhelming.

Heavy.

Sharp.

Like standing near a wild beast pretending to be human.

Do-Yoon looked beside him at Min-Jae.

But strangely—

Min-Jae looked completely normal.

No fear.

No pressure.

Just curiosity.

"…You don't feel that?" Do-Yoon whispered quietly.

"Huh?"

"The pressure."

Min-Jae blinked.

"…What pressure?"

Do-Yoon looked confused.

"…You seriously don't feel anything?"

"No?"

Mrantor silently watched them both.

Then suddenly—

A small smile appeared on his face.

Interesting.

Very interesting.

But he said nothing.

Instead, he turned around.

"Follow me."

Without another word, he started walking.

Do-Yoon and Min-Jae quickly followed him through the academy hallways.

As they walked—

The pressure around Mrantor continued affecting Do-Yoon slightly.

It almost felt like cold wind touching his skin constantly.

Meanwhile Min-Jae walked happily beside him.

"BRO."

"What?"

"I think our teacher is secretly super cool."

Do-Yoon looked at Mrantor carefully.

"…He feels dangerous."

"That's what makes him cool."

"…Your standards are concerning."

Mrantor continued leading them silently.

Many students moved out of the way while seeing him.

Some even looked nervous.

Others immediately lowered their heads respectfully.

Do-Yoon noticed everything.

"…He's definitely important."

After several minutes—

They finally arrived at a huge training ground.

The area was massive.

Weapon racks stood beside the walls. Several combat circles were drawn onto the ground. Training dummies filled another corner.

Some students practiced magic attacks farther away.

Explosions occasionally echoed through the area.

Min-Jae's eyes sparkled instantly.

"BRO THIS PLACE IS AWESOME."

Mrantor finally stopped walking.

Then slowly turned toward them.

And suddenly—

His expression became colder.

Much colder.

"Listen carefully."

Both became quiet immediately.

Mrantor crossed his arms.

"I'm only here because the principal ordered me."

His sharp eyes locked onto them.

"So do not misunderstand anything."

The air suddenly felt heavy again.

Mrantor continued calmly,

"You are weak."

"Extremely weak."

"You two are rats compared to real Mirrors."

Do-Yoon instantly felt emotional damage.

"…Why is he attacking us mentally…"

Mrantor ignored him completely.

"And remember this."

His voice became even colder.

"I will not show mercy during combat practice."

Silence.

Do-Yoon felt personally destroyed.

"…This guy is terrifying."

But unexpectedly—

Min-Jae looked impressed instead.

His eyes sparkled.

"…BRO."

Do-Yoon looked at him.

"…What now?"

Min-Jae pointed dramatically at Mrantor.

"His rude energy is insane."

"…What?"

"It's like emotional damage martial arts!"

Do-Yoon stared at him blankly.

"What are you talking about?"

Min-Jae stepped closer toward Mrantor excitedly.

"Sir, is this your secret feelings hurting technique?"

Silence.

The entire training ground suddenly became quiet.

Even nearby students stopped moving.

Mrantor slowly looked at Min-Jae.

Very slowly.

"…What?"

Min-Jae nodded seriously.

"You attack the enemy emotionally first."

Do-Yoon immediately stepped backward.

"…He's dead."

Mrantor's expression darkened slightly.

Then—

BOOM.

Without warning—

He punched Min-Jae directly in the stomach.

The impact exploded loudly.

"GAH—!"

Min-Jae flew backward instantly.

Literally flew.

His body crashed across the training ground before rolling several times.

Silence filled the area.

Do-Yoon froze completely.

"…WHAT THE HECK?!"

Far away, Min-Jae slowly lifted one shaking hand.

"…Bro…"

Then collapsed face-first onto the ground dramatically.

Do-Yoon stared in horror.

"…HE SENT HIM FLYING!"

Mrantor calmly lowered his fist.

"Annoying."

Do-Yoon immediately became afraid.

Very afraid.

His survival instincts activated instantly.

"…I need to stay respectful."

Mrantor slowly turned toward him.

And somehow—

That made things worse.

The cold pressure around him intensified slightly.

Then Mrantor spoke calmly.

"You."

Do-Yoon pointed at himself nervously.

"…Me?"

"Fight me."

Silence.

"…Excuse me?"

Mrantor stepped into the center of the training area.

"Come at me with everything you have."

Do-Yoon looked horrified.

"…Everything?"

"Yes."

Do-Yoon slowly looked toward unconscious Min-Jae lying far away.

Then back toward Mrantor.

"…I suddenly don't want to become strong anymore."

Mrantor's eyes narrowed slightly.

"Move."

Do-Yoon swallowed hard.

Every instinct told him to run.

But another feeling also appeared inside him.

Excitement.

Fear.

Curiosity.

He wanted to know how strong a Broken truly was.

Slowly—

Do-Yoon stepped forward.

His heart beat faster.

Mrantor stood completely still in front of him.

Not even preparing to defend.

That somehow made Do-Yoon even more nervous.

"…Okay…"

Do-Yoon took a deep breath.

Then activated his skill.

"DISK DASH!"

His body burst forward instantly.

The ground cracked slightly under his sudden movement.

Do-Yoon rushed toward Mrantor at full speed.

Faster.

Faster.

FASTER.

Within a second—

He appeared directly behind Mrantor.

And attacked immediately.

But then—

Mrantor disappeared.

Do-Yoon's eyes widened.

"…WHAT?!"

A hand suddenly grabbed the back of his shirt.

Then—

SLAM.

Do-Yoon smashed directly into the ground.

Dust exploded everywhere.

Pain rushed through his entire body instantly.

"GAH!"

He coughed painfully.

Mrantor stood above him calmly.

"You're fast."

Do-Yoon blinked painfully.

"…Really?"

"But your movements are obvious."

Emotional damage again.

Do-Yoon lay on the ground dramatically.

"…Why does every compliment from him hurt…"

Mrantor crossed his arms.

"Again."

Do-Yoon looked horrified.

"…Again?!"

"Yes."

And thus—

The suffering of Kim Do-Yoon officially began.
