Chapter 1 - DEMONESS AT THE AUCTION

Part1:

In an ancient world, thousands of years ago…

A little girl stood there, clutching a small mechanical doll.

The doll began to repeat in a mechanical voice:

"Temperature is low… Temperature is low…"

The girl stared at the ground beneath her feet, which was slowly beginning to freeze.

Before she could comprehend what was happening, the doll began to repeat again:

"The temperature is rising… the temperature is rising…"

She raised her head toward the sky, which had begun to rain ash.

Then the ash quickly turned into flames that consumed the little girl's body, charring everything around her.

The students cried out, "Oh no! Stop!"

The teacher laughed: "Why Are you asking me to stop?"

One of the students challenged her: "The little girl's end is gruesome… I can't imagine her tiny body being charred!"

Another spoke up: "But… why? Why did the fire break out?"

The teacher smiled: "Good question… why?"

She looked at the blonde girl sitting by the window, her strands of hair moving in the breeze, her blue eyes watching the outside. She was wearing a short white dress that fit her slender frame.

The teacher said: "Veronica… why?"

Veronica looked at her: "I think it's because of the snow. Snow is useless."

Teacher: "And why didn't you say it was because of

the fire?

all fire does is destroy. It destroys anything and everything."

Veronica: "Do you think the fire is to blame? Or the people who started it?"

Another student: "I think the fire started because of the war, but why is there ice in a raging war…

Another spoke up: "But teacher, I don't understand… how can your story be from thousands of years ago, and about a smart doll? That doesn't make sense!"

The teacher smiled enigmatically: "War is the correct answer… but what isn't logical is that you now believe you're smarter than those who came before you."
