Chapter 4 - chapter 3: Eva's wrath

The Sea Lord Festival poster is ripped in half, and the page burns away, the memory stored within the item being erased — manifesting a wolf.

It lunges off the roof, its jaw wide open to bite into the lambshire.

"Baaaaaarrrrrr!" the eastern beast roars as it whips its hand forward, about to crush the bones of the wolf. However, the wild animal crunches down on the lambshire's hand. It reacts fast, slamming the wolf's body into the ground. It lets out a whine of pain, and the lambshire uses its other hand to pile‑drive its fist into its skull.

Eva, clutching her side, grabs her fishing rod and swings the line at the eastern beast, hooking the shackle on its wrist.

It turns to her as she pulls the wire the best she can, but it's no use — it's too strong, even for her toned fisherwoman body.

"That's enough," Asmen's voice rings out, and the lambshire stops.

Sitting next to Noman on the rooftop, Asmen smokes another cigarette.

Noman's eyes dart to the side, not even realizing that Asmen somehow got onto the roof and sat down.

"Tell me, Noman… do you have good notes on this lambshire?"

"Maybe," Noman responds, and Asmen lets out a hum. "You come home with me and give me those notes, and I'll let the girl live."

Noman looks down at Eva. "I don't even know why I should even care."

"Bastard," Foster mumbles as he tries to look up from the ground.

"I see," Asmen says, and the lambshire sprints at the girl, about to crush her chest.

"WAIT! OK, OK!" Noman shouts, and the lambshire stops.

"I'm glad you see reason," Asmen says, his glasses fogging over from his cigarette.

"Baaaaaarrrrrr!" The wolf chomps into the ankles of the lambshire, and Noman spins, slamming his foot into Asmen's face, crushing his glasses and causing the man to lie down.

The lambshire tries to strike Eva, but she backs up, and the eastern beast is locked in place by the wolf's jaw.

"Run for it!" Noman shouts, but then he looks down to see Foster on the ground and Eva's dad leaning against a wall, unknown if he's dead or alive. People seem to be taking notice of the chaos.

Noman leaps off the roof and onto the lambshire, but the beast stays standing — but that isn't what matters.

The eastern beast thrashes around, but Noman places his hand on the beast. "You're my memories, so go away!" The lambshire fades away into shards of blue light along with the wolf, causing Noman to land on the pavement, tired — but Asmen doesn't give him a chance to breathe.

As he jumps off the roof and rams his feet into the back of Noman's head, he leaps off and rolls to a stand. "My job is to take you home, so just let me," Asmen proclaims — but Eva punches the man, making him stumble forward. As he turns, she socks him in the jaw, then in the chest, and not giving him time, kicks him in the side of the stomach — the same place the lambshire kicked her.

"You fucking prick, you think you can leave after what you've done?" She doesn't relent on her punches, causing the Dier clan assassin to feel the wrath of an angry fisherwoman.

Asmen takes blow after blow, and then as he regains his sense of what's going on, he parries her fist and strikes her in the face with his own fist. "Tactless." He shakes his head, but Eva only gets more annoyed. She rushes him, pushing the man over and hammering down like some sort of angry beast. She doesn't stop, fist after fist coming down, higher and higher above her head like she's reeling back after even more pain with every blow.

Asmen struggles and struggles, eventually getting her off him, and he gets up panting, with bruises and scratch marks covering his body. "Rotten… rotten bitch!"

"Say that again!" She marches forward, about to sock him in the nuts.

"Eva," Foster says weakly, trying to get her to stop. "I‑it's ok," he lets out with a cough, and Eva stops for a moment, her expression calming down.

"Yes, listen to your boyfriend," Asmen says, clearly not in any position to say anything — so she kicks him in the genitals, and he drops to the ground.

"Next time I'll remove them," she says, walking away. "Oi, you good?" Eva asks, walking to Noman, who looks up at the seaside sky, the white cloud reminding him of that time when he was a child.

"I'm good," he lets out with a breath of cold air.

Warm smoke spreads across the room. Sitting within a dimly lit chamber is a large old man with a now‑grey beard and hair, smoking on a pipe. The cushion below him is red, and the candles beside him give the room an eerie glow. He wears a black toga over one shoulder, with his arm resting on the inside.

"Vice Head Claeg Dier, we located Noman, sir. He's in the west, within Ruby's Rest," a man with a shaven head says, wearing a black uniform.

"Good. Send Belästia," he says, and the shaved‑head man bows and leaves.

"If we're lucky, they can kill each other," Claeg says, breathing out smoke as three pairs of eyes look at him from within another room.
