CHAPTER I:THE WAY IT STARTED
The funny thing about beginnings is that you never know you're in one.
It doesn't feel important at the time.
It feels like a normal day. A normal conversation. A normal person.
That's how she walked into my life.
Liana.
No warning. No music playing in the background. No sign that she'd become someone I'd think about at 2 a.m. when everything is quiet and honesty gets loud.
At first, she was just… easy.
Easy to talk to.
Easy to laugh with.
Easy to keep around.
And that's what got me.
Because people don't tell you this,,,but the most dangerous ones aren't the loud ones.
They're the ones that feel like peace when you didn't even realize you were tired.
I don't remember exactly what we talked about that first time.
Probably something small. Something that didn't matter.
But I remember how I felt.
Seen.
Like she wasn't just hearing me,,,she was listening. Like she understood things I didn't even say out loud.
And once that happens… it's over.
You start looking for them in everything.
Checking your phone more than you should.
Smiling at messages like an idiot.
You don't even realize you're falling.
Not yet.
Because if I had known where this would end—
if I had known the silence, the distance, the way her name would start to feel heavy instead of soft—
I would've paused right there.
Right at the beginning.
But that's the thing about stories like this…
