In the Tracen Academy student council room, Symboli Rudolf sat leisurely in her chair.
The desk before her was spotless and neat. There was a steaming cup of black tea, and beside it, an open laptop.
After spending the entire weekend working overtime to finish her mountain of paperwork, Rudolf was finally entering a few easy days. For the next several days, she would be able to do things she actually liked instead of drowning in official work.
That said, she still could not really rest.
Because right now, Symboli Rudolf had assigned herself a personal mission.
Namely, whenever she had free time, she would log into the academy staff management backend and see if she could dig up any dirt on Tang Han. If she found some juicy black history, maybe she could use it to negotiate with him in a very friendly manner.
Tang Han, Trainer… you would not want your dark past to come out, would you?

Tokai Teio bounced happily into the room.
"Teio." Symboli Rudolf smiled warmly.
So her beloved junior had come again for their usual little chats.
"Perfect timing. I wanted to talk to you about Tang—"
But just as Rudolf was about to bring up a very private topic with Teio, she suddenly stopped.
Because she had just seen the cheerful and innocent Haru Urara walk into the student council room, holding the hand of a rather strange-looking Tang Han. Behind them were two more horse girls.
"Tang Han, Trainer?"
Rudolf immediately snapped her laptop shut. The smile on her face stiffened slightly.
Why had Tang Han, Trainer, come here?
Had he discovered that she had been secretly digging into his past?
Or perhaps… was he here to take on a new trainee?
"No, no, no." Rudolf shook her head and instantly denied the idea.
She had pushed Teio on him so hard before, and he still had not accepted. So how could this possibly be—

Rudolf shot up from her seat, visibly excited.
Tang Han, Trainer, was finally going to take on another horse girl?
Was it Teio? Or one of the others present?
Rudolf hurriedly sized up every horse girl who had come with Tang Han, trying to determine which one was competing with Teio.
The first: the pink-haired little angel, Urara. She was Tang Han's first trainee and had already been registered, so obviously it could not be her again. She did not count as competition.
The second: Mejiro McQueen, the young lady of the Mejiro family, famous in her own right.
The third: King Halo. Her mother had won a G1 race, and King Halo herself was no slouch either. Rudolf had certainly heard of her.
If it were either McQueen or King Halo, then yes, they would absolutely be serious competition for Teio.
However, both of them were standing a little apart from Tang Han, and neither looked especially excited. So they probably were not the horse girl Tang Han was here to contract with.
That made Teio even more likely!
Then Rudolf suddenly noticed another horse girl hiding behind Tang Han: a black-haired girl timidly peeking out from behind him, looking extremely nervous.
But Rudolf assumed the girl was just naturally timid, hence the anxious way she clung behind Tang Han.
So she ruled her out.
At that point, she had looked over every horse girl present.
Was the answer not obvious?
Teio had to be the one Tang Han intended to take on!
"Teio…"
Rudolf's eyes immediately brimmed with tears.
Finally! Her precious darling daughter had finally been married off—no, scratch that—had finally become Tang Han's trainee! As a father, she was overwhelmed with emotion and relief.
Rudolf quickly pulled out two fresh trainee contract forms from a drawer, then took out two brand-new fountain pens from her pen holder.

She handed one of the documents to Tang Han, her eyes full of anticipation.

Tang Han silently accepted it and began filling it out in a rather stiff, mechanical manner.
Meanwhile, Lucky hovered above his head, using a remote control to operate his body.
Lucky: Boss, you do not have the ability to think right now, so let me fill in the trainee form for you.
Lucky: Tang Han Unit, launch.
Tang Han: … (still Charmed)
"Tang Han, Trainer, seems a bit strange," Rudolf remarked, her sharp instincts picking up on his current abnormal state.
But her joy was so overwhelming that she chose to ignore how odd Tang Han was acting.
The important thing was getting Tang Han and Teio contracted!
"Teio, this one is yours."
But when Rudolf handed the second form to Tokai Teio, Teio did not take it. Instead, she gave Rudolf an awkward look.

Take it! Why are you not taking it?!
As long as you sign this form, Tang Han, Trainer, will be yours! What are you hesitating for?
Just as Rudolf was baffled by Teio's inexplicable behavior, that timid horse girl stepped forward and accepted the contract form.

Rice Shower took the form from Rudolf, then began filling it out with a pen.

But Teio was cute too. So why not Teio?
Rudolf did not understand.
Still… forget it.
With one came two, with two came three.
Since Tang Han, Trainer, had already accepted one more horse girl, there would surely be more in the future.
That meant Teio still had a chance!
From now on, she would simply have to make Teio learn from Rice Shower's brand of cuteness.
For now, though, Rudolf needed to do her job properly as student council president and conduct the academy's standard trainee oath ceremony for the two newcomers.
After checking the forms and confirming there were no errors, Rudolf stood solemnly between Tang Han and Rice Shower.
"Rice Shower, do you agree to become Tang Han, Trainer's trainee horse girl? To love him, be loyal to him, whether he is poor, ill, or disabled, until death do you part? Do you?"
"I do!" Rice Shower nodded with complete seriousness.
"Tang Han, Trainer, do you also agree to—"
Tang Han went blank for a moment, then Lucky bonked him on the head with a thunk.
