CHAPTER 1: HER MISTAKE

[Mr Tyrant meet Miss Clumsy]

The morning air in the capital was cold and sharp, nothing like the soft breeze Patricia Cole was used to back in her village. The tall buildings stretched into the sky like giants, and the wide roads were already filled with movement even before the sun fully rose.

She ran a comb through her long, pretty hair, letting it fall loose as she stood in front of the mirror. Then she pulled on a simple blue t-shirt and a black skirt that hit right at her knees. The outfit hugged her figure, showing off her curves nicely. She glanced at her reflection and nodded, pleased with how it all came together.

"Daisy, I'm heading out now," she called to her friend, the one she was crashing with for the time being.

Daisy, still half-asleep, just gave a lazy nod from the bed. Patricia shot her an amused look, shook her head with a small smile, grabbed her little purse, and stepped out of the room. She walked to the curb and waved down a taxi. "Meteors Restaurant," she told the driver.

Before Long,

Patricia stood in front of the restaurant, holding her small bag tightly, her eyes shining with excitement and nervousness at the same time. "This is it…" she whispered to herself. After years of dreaming, after leaving her parents and everything she knew behind, she had finally stepped into the city where her future would begin.

Becoming a restaurant owner was no longer just a wish, it was something she was ready to chase. She pushed the door open and stepped inside. The restaurant was quiet, far too quiet for a place that was known across the city. The lights were on, and from the kitchen came the sound of soft movements.

"You're early," a voice called out. Patricia turned and saw the head chef, a middle-aged man with a strict face and sharp eyes. He looked her up and down before nodding slightly.

"Good. I like workers who take this seriously. Go inside and get ready."

"Yes, sir!" Patricia replied quickly, almost too loudly. She hurried into the kitchen, but the moment she stepped in, she froze.

The long table in front of her was filled with food, plates after plates of different dishes, steaming hot, rich with smell, carefully prepared like a feast. Her eyes widened.

"All this… for breakfast?" she muttered under her breath. Before she could think further, the chef spoke again. "Stop staring. Take the tray out. Table one." Patricia quickly nodded and carefully picked up the tray, trying her best to stay balanced.

Her steps were slow and cautious as she walked out of the kitchen. The restaurant hall was still empty… except for one person. He was sitting by the window, his back straight, his presence calm but heavy, like the entire space belonged to him alone. Even without seeing his face clearly, Patricia felt something press against her chest. She swallowed hard.

"That must be the customer…" She walked closer, her hands slightly shaking. Then he turned. And the moment Patricia saw his face, her entire body went cold. Her mind went blank. "Wonder Blackson!" She screamed in her heart.

The name echoed loudly in her head like a warning bell.

The youngest of the powerful Blackson family, yet the most feared, not because of his wealth, but because of the things people whispered about him in low voices, stories that sounded unreal but were never denied.

They said when he was just fourteen, he locked his own father away for two whole years like a prisoner before releasing him over an argument.

At fifteen, he took over the family company completely, and when two shareholders tried to stand against him, they were found dead the next morning under mysterious conditions, with no evidence, no trace, and no answers even after years of investigation.

His aunt once threatened him openly, only for her to wake up the next day missing her middle finger, with a note left beside her bed that read quietly "I'm watching you." and many more.

After much investigation from the authorities, no one proved he was the one behind all those incidents. Though several times traces lead to him but no concrete evidence so no one dared question him either.

Even someone like her, who had just arrived in the city, had heard the stories. News papers about a young man who rose to power too fast, surrounded by rumors of cruelty, fear, and things no one could prove, but everyone believed.

Her fingers trembled. "Focus… Patricia, just serve the food…" she whispered in her heart. She stepped forward. But her foot slipped slightly. In that one careless second the bowl she was holding tilted. The hot soup spilled straight onto him.

Everything went silent. Patricia froze completely, her eyes wide in horror as the empty bowl slipped from her hand and hit the floor with a sharp sound. Her heart stopped for a moment.

Slowly, very slowly, Wonder Blackson looked down at his stained clothes… then raised his eyes to her. Those eyes were cold.

Not angry but it gave her those cold feelings.

Patricia's legs gave way, and she fell to the ground with a soft cry.

"I—I'm sorry… I didn't mean to". Before she could finish, footsteps rushed out from the kitchen. The chef dropped to his knees instantly, his voice shaking.

"Sir! Please forgive her! She's new, she doesn't know…"

"I want her fired." The words were calm and flat without emotions. Patricia felt like something heavy crashed onto her chest. "I couldn't believe I'm losing my job already. All thanks to this bastard.

"Sir, please" the chef tried again. "I don't repeat myself." Two bodyguards appeared almost immediately, as if they had been waiting for this moment. Without saying a word, they grabbed Patricia by the arms and pulled her up.

"Please! I need this job…please!" she cried, struggling weakly. But no one listened. The door opened. And just like that, Patricia Cole was thrown out into the cold streets of the capital… on her very first day.

She sat there on the ground, her eyes filled with tears, her hands shaking, her dream breaking before it even had the chance to begin.

Inside the restaurant, Wonder Blackson calmly wiped his hand with a napkin, his expression unchanged. To him, it was nothing.

Just a small mistake. But to Patricia, It was the beginning of everything.
