The moonbird couldn't believe its eyes as it watched Edwin's sword start glowing red. Not even Trivia Grokter, who had blindsided the moonbird before, had been this reckless. The creature could sense Edwin's sincerity in the aura of his blade.
Haven, equally astounded, stared at Edwin and eventually drew his own sword. He figured the only way to bring Raviel back was through that creature. It would be best to persuade the bird, but if words didn't work, Haven was also ready to use force.
His desperation and determination were no less than Edwin's, but he asked, mustering patience out of necessity, "Moonbird, tell me what must be done to revive this woman. I am willing to do whatever it takes."
Haven's pitch-black sword revealed that his mention of 'whatever it takes' hinted at various possibilities.
