Kaleb looked at me with confused eyes. My smart and quick-witted, former head secretary glanced around as he sensed that something was off.
'Are you looking for a way out? Don't worry about that either. I've blocked all the exits,' I said in my thoughts.
"Eddy," I tenderly called out my little brother's name.
He answered with a voice brimming with excitement, "I've been waiting, Raviel."
As he came over to me, our eyes met, and I released his leash.
"Catch him, Eddy."
"Got it, Raviel."
This time, Edwin didn't launch himself forward. Uncharacteristically, he took slow, measured steps toward Kaleb.
"Wh-why are you doing this… Your Majesty?"
'You should know why I'm doing this better than anyone. It was you who turned my palace into a trap and waited for me. And I'm curious too why you did that.'
I looked at Kaleb with cold eyes. He looked around for help with a pleading gaze, but no one was here to block my lovely little rascal from him.
