"Sit down before you fall down."
Nadia pushed Reid toward one of the dining chairs, but he caught the edge of the table instead. "I'm fine."
"You're bleeding on my floor." She shoved the chair behind his knees, and Reid sat, clearly without the energy to argue with her.
Nobody else said anything. The pack house had been loud five minutes ago — Rhys had made sure of that. Now everyone stood around like they were waiting for the next thing to break.
Dort stayed near the kitchen doorway, arms tight over her chest. Two younger pack members had disappeared upstairs, though I could hear them whispering from the landing.
Callum stood by the front door.
"Should someone follow Alpha Rhys?" Nadia asked.
"No," Callum said.
"He was furious, and he could hurt himself."
Callum looked at her. "Following him right now is how someone else gets hurt."
Nadia grabbed a towel and pressed it against Reid's mouth. He flinched. "Hold still."
"I said I'm fine."
"And I said hold still."
