Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Boy Who Only Came Out in the night

There's something about the night that makes everything feel honest.

Maybe it's because people stop pretending.

Maybe it's because darkness hides what we don't want others to see.

Or maybe…

some things only exist when the sun goes down.

.....

I first noticed him on a night I couldn't sleep.

The air was quiet, the kind of quiet that makes your thoughts louder than they should be. I stepped outside just to breathe… just to escape my own head.

That's when I saw him.

---

He was standing across the street.

Not doing anything.

Just… there.

Like he had been there for a while.

....

At first, I thought he was waiting for someone.

But something about him didn't feel normal.

It wasn't his clothes.

It wasn't his face.

It was the way he stood.

Too still.

Too calm.

Like time didn't move the same way around him.

....

I should have gone back inside.

Honestly, I wanted to.

But instead… I kept looking.

And somehow—

he noticed.

.....

Our eyes met.

And in that moment, something shifted.

I can't explain it.

It wasn't fear.

Not exactly.

It was… curiosity.

Mixed with something deeper.

Something that made my chest feel tight without warning.

...

He started walking toward me.

Slow. Steady. No hesitation.

Every step he took made my heart beat faster.

Not because I thought he would hurt me…

but because I didn't understand why I wasn't afraid.

....

"Do you always stay out this late?"

His voice was low. Calm. Almost too calm.

I swallowed.

"Sometimes."

...

Up close, he looked even stranger.

Not ugly.

Not scary.

Just… perfect in a way that didn't feel human.

.....

"You shouldn't," he said quietly.

"Why?" I asked.

.....

For a second, he didn't answer.

He just looked at me.

Really looked.

Like he was trying to memorize something.

Or maybe… trying to decide something.

.....

Then he said it.

Softly.

Almost like a warning.

...

"Because not everything you meet at night is safe."

.....

Something about the way he said it made my skin rise.

I should have stepped back.

I should have left.

I should have listened.

.....

But instead… I asked the question that changed everything.

....

"Are you one of those things?"

...

He smiled.

Slowly.

Dangerously.

....

And that was the moment I knew…

I was already in trouble.

Watch out for Chapter two🥺😵‍💫
