Seeing that the monster was beginning to evolve again—

Jill's expression immediately changed.

"Run!"

Without wasting another second—

Both Jill and Wesker instantly turned around and sprinted toward the exit.

Boom!!

The church behind them started shaking violently.

Wood cracked apart.

The walls began splitting.

Both of them directly leapt through the church windows—

Crash!!

Glass shattered everywhere as they rolled across the cold muddy ground outside.

Jill immediately got back on her feet while breathing heavily.

She looked toward Wesker and asked,

"Why does this thing even have a second phase?"

"None of the infected I saw before could evolve like this."

Wesker calmly reloaded his pistol while running.

"I don't know."

"This is new for me too."

Then he glanced at her.

"You dealt with infected before."

"Tell me."

Jill clenched her jaw slightly.

"Honestly?"

"I don't know anymore."

"These things just keep getting worse."

Without wasting time—

Both of them immediately started sprinting through the village again.

Then—

BOOOOOOM!!

The giant church doors suddenly exploded outward.

Wood fragments flew everywhere.

The mutated monster slowly stepped outside.

Its body had become even larger now.

At least five meters tall.

Its exposed heart pulsed violently like a living engine.

The giant claws dragged against the ground while black blood dripped from its body.

Jill's face darkened.

"…Yeah."

"We're not outrunning that."

Wesker looked around calmly.

The villagers had already surrounded the entire area.

Every escape route was blocked.

Screeching echoed throughout the village.

Wesker coldly said,

"Then we kill it."

"I still have grenades left."

"If we destroy the heart completely, we might still win."

Jill nodded firmly.

"Fine."

"Let's finish this."

The monster suddenly roared and rushed toward them violently.

Boom! Boom! Boom!!

Each step cracked the ground beneath it.

The giant claw suddenly swung downward toward both of them.

"Dodge!"

Jill instantly yelled.

Both of them jumped sideways at the last second.

Boom!!

The claw smashed into the ground between them.

Mud and stone exploded upward.

Jill immediately rolled across the ground and pulled out her shotgun.

Then—

Boom!! Boom!!

She directly fired at the exposed heart repeatedly.

The monster screamed in pain.

Meanwhile—

Wesker started clearing the infected villagers surrounding them while firing toward the giant creature whenever he found an opening.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The battlefield turned completely chaotic.

Villagers screamed.

Gunfire echoed endlessly.

The giant monster continued attacking wildly without stopping.

Its claws destroyed houses around it while trying to crush Jill.

Jill narrowly dodged another attack before suddenly shouting,

"Wesker!"

"Grenade!"

Without hesitation—

Wesker immediately pulled one out and threw it toward her.

"Catch!"

Jill dodged another giant claw before catching the grenade mid-air.

The moment she pulled the pin—

Her eyes locked onto the monster's mouth.

"If the heart won't work…"

"Then let's destroy it from inside."

The giant monster roared again—

And Jill immediately threw the grenade directly into its mouth.

The creature didn't even notice.

It continued charging toward her blindly.

Jill immediately jumped backward and covered her face.

Then—

BOOOOOOOM!!

The monster's entire head exploded apart violently.

Black flesh and blood blasted everywhere.

Even though the explosion didn't fully destroy the body—

Its brain had been heavily damaged.

The giant creature staggered backward before collapsing onto the ground.

Boom!!

The entire village shook from the impact.

Jill slowly stood up while breathing heavily.

Smoke rose from the corpse.

Wesker immediately looked toward her and shouted,

"Run!"

"We don't have time!"

"The monster's down, but the villagers aren't!"

Jill immediately nodded.

Without hesitation—

She started firing toward the infected villagers while forcing a path open.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

"Move!"

The infected villagers continued rushing toward them fearlessly.

Meanwhile—

Far away outside the village—

Leon silently watched the burning church from the distance.

The cold wind blew against his coat.

His sharp eyes calmly observed everything.

"…Not bad."

"They performed better than I expected."

Slowly—

Both Jill and Wesker formed a defensive formation, covering each other's blind spots while firing continuously at the infected villagers.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Spent bullet casings fell across the muddy ground.

The villagers kept screaming in their strange language while endlessly rushing toward them.

No fear.

No hesitation.

Only madness.

Jill shot another villager directly in the head before gritting her teeth.

"They're not stopping."

"It's like there's no end to them."

Wesker calmly fired another precise shot before replying,

"Then we stop wasting ammunition."

"We can't fight an entire village head-on."

Another infected villager suddenly lunged toward him—

Bang!!

Wesker instantly shot him between the eyes.

Then he looked toward Jill.

"Let's move."

"There's still military support outside."

"And Leon."

"He'll handle the rest."

"All we needed was evidence."

"We already confirmed the cult, the mutation, and the infected villagers."

Jill nodded firmly.

"Right."

"Let's get out of here."

Without wasting another second—

Both of them immediately started sprinting through the village while dodging incoming attacks from the infected villagers.

The villagers chased after them from every direction.

Torches burned throughout the dark village.

Screeches echoed behind them nonstop.

Jill suddenly noticed a narrow hidden opening between two giant rock walls.

Her eyes sharpened instantly.

"There!"

"There's a hidden pathway!"

"We can escape through there!"

Wesker immediately glanced toward it and nodded.

"Good eye."

Without hesitation—

Both of them immediately changed direction and rushed toward the hidden path.

Meanwhile—

The infected villagers continued running toward the village's main exit instead, completely failing to notice them slipping away through the narrow rocky passage.

The cold night wind howled around them while both Jill and Wesker sprinted through the dark pathway.

After running for several minutes—

The rocky path finally opened outward.

Both of them immediately reached the outer area near the village perimeter.

And there—

Standing calmly on top of a giant rock—

Leon silently watched the burning village from afar.

The fire behind him reflected against his cold eyes.

The military forces around the area immediately became alert after noticing Jill and Wesker return alive.

Jill slowly stopped while breathing heavily.

Wesker calmly adjusted his glasses.

Leon looked down at both of them silently for a few seconds.

Then—

A faint smirk appeared on his face.

"…Looks like you two survived."

Jill let out an exhausted breath.

"Barely."

Wesker calmly added,

"The village is completely infected."

"And the cult leader mutated into a second-stage monster."

Leon's expression remained calm.

"I expected that."

Then his sharp gaze shifted toward the burning village again.

The screams of the infected could still be heard from inside.

The cold wind blew through the battlefield silently.

Leon slowly stepped down from the giant rock.

His coat moved with the wind.

Then he looked at both Jill and Wesker.

"You both did well."

"Now leave the rest to me."

Both Jill and Wesker nodded silently.

Then—

Roars suddenly echoed from behind them again.

Raaaaagh!!

Both immediately turned around.

Their expressions darkened instantly.

A massive horde of infected villagers was rushing toward them from the burning village.

Torches burned wildly in their hands while countless screeches echoed throughout the night.

And behind the horde—

Another monstrous roar exploded across the battlefield.

ROOOOOOOAR!!

The ground itself trembled.

Slowly—

A gigantic mutated creature emerged from the flames.

Its appearance resembled a grotesque mass of flesh and muscle.

One giant arm dragged against the ground while dozens of pulsating veins covered its body.

It looked almost like the final form of Nemesis itself.

Jill's eyes widened slightly.

"…You've got to be kidding me."

Even Wesker's calm expression became serious.

Then—

Both of them slowly turned toward Leon.

Leon stood there calmly.

Silent.

The cold wind blew against his black coat, causing it to flutter behind him like a war flag.

The burning flames of the village reflected against his sharp eyes.

At that moment—

He didn't look human anymore.

He looked like a walking disaster.

Without even glancing back—

Leon calmly spoke,

"Fall back."

"Leave the rest to me."

Then—

He slowly started walking toward the incoming horde alone.

Jill stared at his back silently.

Even she could feel the pressure around him now.

Beside her—

Wesker adjusted his glasses slightly and muttered,

"…Will this end well?"

Before Jill could answer—

Commander Robert suddenly approached them quickly.

He looked at both of them seriously.

"Are you two alright?"

Both Jill and Wesker immediately informed him about everything inside the village—

The cult.

The church.

The mutations.

The giant monster.

Robert's expression turned pale afterward.

"…Damn."

Then he immediately grabbed the military radio.

"All units!"

"Battle formation!"

"Move now!"

Within seconds—

Military forces started pouring forward from behind the hills.

Soldiers lined up rapidly in organized formations.

Rifles pointed toward the approaching horde instantly.

Heavy military vehicles repositioned themselves.

Above the battlefield—

Several helicopters hovered across the dark sky, ready to fire at any moment if things went wrong.

The entire area turned into a war zone.

Jill slowly looked at the military forces surrounding the area and let out a breath.

"…This should be enough."

Wesker calmly replied,

"If even this fails…"

"…then humanity has a problem."

Meanwhile—

Leon continued walking forward alone.

Step.

Step.

Step.

The heat around him suddenly began rising.

At first—

Only small waves of heat appeared around his body.

Then—

His fists slowly started turning into magma.

Bright molten lava covered both of his arms completely.

Drip.

Drip.

Burning magma fell onto the ground beneath him.

The earth instantly melted from the temperature.

Smoke rose around his footsteps.

The ground beneath Leon slowly turned red-hot.

Even the surrounding air started distorting from the heat.

The soldiers behind him unconsciously stepped backward in fear.

Jill silently watched everything.

"…What the hell…"

Leon slowly raised his head toward the dark sky.

His burning eyes glowed like molten fire.

Then—

He thrust both magma-covered fists upward and roared,

"METEOR VOLCANO!!"

BOOOOOOOOOOM!!

The earth exploded beneath him.

Dozens—

No—

Hundreds of giant magma fists blasted into the sky like volcanic meteors.

The entire night sky turned crimson red.

Even the helicopters above immediately moved backward from the overwhelming heat.

The infected villagers stopped moving for a brief second.

Then—

Like divine punishment—

The magma meteors started raining down upon the battlefield.

BOOM!! BOOM!! BOOM!! BOOOOM!!

Entire sections of the village exploded instantly.

The infected horde was completely engulfed in magma and flames.

Screams echoed everywhere.

The giant mutated monster roared furiously and tried to charge forward—

Only for three giant magma fists to crash directly onto its body.

BOOOOOOOOM!!

The monster's entire upper half exploded apart instantly.

The shockwave alone sent burning debris flying across the battlefield.

Everyone watching froze completely.

Jill's mouth slowly opened slightly.

Even Wesker became silent.

The military soldiers stared at the destruction with pale faces.

Commander Robert swallowed heavily.

"…Monster."

But he didn't know—

Whether he was talking about the infected.

Or Leon.

Seeing the burning battlefield before him—

Leon calmly looked back toward the others and said,

"This should be enough."

Then—

As if what he had just done was completely normal—

He simply started walking back toward them.

Behind him—

The entire village had turned into a molten wasteland.

Magma chunks continuously released sizzling sounds while thick steam and burning gas slowly spread throughout the destroyed area.

Ssssssssss—

The remaining houses slowly collapsed one after another into the burning magma.

Nothing remained alive anymore.

Only burning ruins.

Smoke.

And slowly cooling lava.

The entire battlefield looked like a volcanic disaster zone.

Jill stood there silently.

Her mouth was still slightly open.

She couldn't even form words anymore.

Even after seeing Leon fight multiple times—

This was still beyond her understanding.

"…This guy…"

Beside her—

Even Wesker remained silent for a few moments.

His eyes reflected the burning battlefield calmly.

But deep inside—

Even he was shocked.

Still—

Unlike Jill—

He quickly regained his composure.

Wesker slowly adjusted his glasses before calmly saying,

"Let's go."

"I think our work here is done."

Commander Robert finally came out of his daze after hearing Wesker's voice.

"…Y-Yeah."

He took a deep breath before looking toward the burning village.

"I think we should wait for the gas and heat to settle first."

"After that, we'll send troops in to confirm the area is completely clear."

Wesker nodded calmly.

"That would be the safest option."

Then—

He slowly removed his backpack and took out several documents from inside before handing them toward Robert.

"These are the documents we found inside the village."

"We searched several houses."

"Looks like these cultists recorded information about the outbreak."

"These might help calm the public situation."

Robert immediately took the documents seriously.

His expression became more focused afterward.

"This is important."

"We'll hand these over to intelligence immediately."

Beside them—

Jill suddenly frowned slightly.

She looked toward Wesker.

"…Wait."

"When did you even pick those up?"

"We were running almost the whole time."

Wesker calmly looked toward her and replied without hesitation,

"While escaping through one of the houses."

"I noticed documents placed on a table."

"At the time I didn't think much about them."

"So I took them just in case."

Jill stared at him for a few seconds.

Still suspicious.

But eventually—

She slowly nodded.

"…Good thinking."

"That actually helped a lot."

Wesker simply nodded calmly.

"Preparation saves lives."

But—

What nobody there knew—

Was that Wesker had never actually found those documents inside the village.

The papers had originally come from Umbrella itself.

Fake reports.

Fake records.

Fake experiments.

Everything had been prepared beforehand.

A perfect cover story.

Its only purpose—

To ensure Umbrella remained completely hidden from this incident.

Meanwhile—

Leon silently walked past them.

The cold night wind blew against his still-smoking coat.

His magma fists had already returned to normal.

As if the destruction earlier had never happened.

Then—

Without even looking back—

Leon calmly said,

"Burn the remains."

"Don't leave even a single infected body behind."

"If one parasite survives…"

"…this entire night becomes meaningless."

The military soldiers behind him immediately straightened themselves.

"Yes, sir!"

Jill silently watched Leon's back again.

Cold.

Calm.

Unshaken.

Like someone already used to carrying disasters on his shoulders.

Suddenly—

Commander Robert stepped forward while holding another document in his hand.

He stopped in front of Jill and handed it toward her.

"Miss Jill Valentine."

"This is your official appointment document."

"You are now recognized as one of the founding members and permanent officers of S.T.A.R.S."

"Alongside Mr. Leon and Mr. Wesker."

"I hope we can cooperate well in the future."

Jill blinked in surprise.

"…Really?"

She slowly took the document from his hand.

"But my police training still hasn't officially finished yet."

Hearing this—

Robert let out a small smile.

"You don't need to worry about that anymore, Miss Jill Valentine."

"The government has already handled the issue."

"Honestly, even I was surprised after learning you were still only a trainee."

Then he continued calmly,

"But after reviewing your records…"

"We found out you had already undergone a rigorous six-month Delta Force counter-terrorism training program."

"Your combat performance tonight also proved your qualifications."

"Therefore, the government has officially approved your certification."

"You are now recognized as a fully qualified officer."

Jill stared at the document silently for a few moments.

"…I still feel like I skipped a few steps."

Robert chuckled lightly.

"Trust me."

"After surviving tonight…"

"You already passed harder tests than most officers ever will."

Jill slowly let out a tired breath before nodding.

"…Thanks."

"Also…"

"You can just call me Jill."

Robert nodded politely.

"Understood then, Miss Jill—"

Then he paused briefly before correcting himself.

"…Jill."

"I hope we work together well from now on."

Jill gave a small nod.

"I hope so too, Mr. Robert."

Beside them—

Wesker finally adjusted his glasses and calmly interrupted,

"I think we should leave now."

"It's already late."

"Or more accurately…"

He glanced toward the dark sky.

"…early morning."

"Even I'm starting to get tired."

By now—

It was already past 3 a.m.

Although Wesker himself showed little exhaustion due to the modifications done to his body—

Jill was clearly exhausted.

Her body felt heavy after everything that happened tonight.

Still—

She refused to show weakness openly.

Robert nodded afterward.

"Agreed."

"We'll continue cleanup operations from here."

Then all three of them slowly started walking toward the area where Leon had gone.

Behind them—

Smoke still rose endlessly from the molten remains of the destroyed village.

The night sky itself remained glowing red from the magma's heat.

Military soldiers continued surrounding the area while helicopters searched the skies above.

Meanwhile—

Far ahead of them—

Leon could already be seen standing alone near the cliffside.

The cold wind blew against his coat while he silently looked toward the distant horizon.

Like he was thinking about something far heavier than the battle they had just survived.
