Chapter 35 - Boredom

Imagine you meet a prophet who tells you this,

"your kingdom is going to perish but because of it perishing you would become the richest of your already dying kingdom."

 What would you do?

 Well...

I know what I would do and my consciousness is clear on the decisions I had to make hence I did what I did. Growing up, I never really had much aside from the constant debts, punishments and payments I had to make on my parents behalf on which I had to pay everyday and if I didn't my sisters or elder brothers would pay on my behalf but the funny part they never actually hated me for failing and struggling at times. They would always say,

"Don't worry, just do you very best next time..."

What wonderful siblings I had and my parents they to would encourage me to always try my level best and when faced with such high expectations, with that kind of backing I obviously felt encouraged to do what I could do, regardless of what happened.

Hmm, what jobs did my family do?

Well, my sister was a well known prostitute ah but its not as sad or bad as you might think off, rather, she was only visited by high nobility and even some royals, all seeking to spend time with her. Yes she was that beautiful and exceptional which kinda leaves you to wonder? Why would the heavens let such a prodigy in both form and beauty appear on a middle class family? Ah but forget it, only those who know, know I guess.

My older brother was a male servant and again its not as bad as you think. You really like to think the worst, sigh. He worked for a well known noble who always took good care of his servants, regardless of the situations.

Ah yes I can't forget my third sister. She was often called, god's gift to the nations. Ridiculous right, but what she could do with her hands truly validated those grandiose words.

My third sister was a nurse. Not a wet nurse or delivery nurse but just a nurse whose care even cured the royal empress of her long ailment. Yes, she too was well known and extraordinary when it came to all things pharmacy.

You really must be interested in my family for you to even begin asking me such questions but because I am kind and generous, I shall indulge you with my past.

My older brother who came after my third sister was a soldier, whom they called the iron man. Cringe but no sword, lance, spear, arrow anything could pierce his skin hence the well suited name. Also known for his extraordinary capabilities in handling the lance, he got recruited to join the Holy empire.

Then came me. People often called my the golden boy, well known for his ravishing looks and kind personality. With all this going on in my life you would wonder, "what's this going to tie with the whole debts, punishments and the rest. You've been living the best life a commoner could have so in what possible way could you have fallen in to debt, punishment and payments?"

That part of the story is for another day but what I wanted to tell you is simply that, when that prophet came into my life by sheer coincidence, everything bad, everything I had done wrong, all of it all, the good, bad, ugly, disgusting and savage moments. Every bad I had endured finally culminated into that very moment where everything changed, where my whole life was rewritten but this time, for the better.

Hmm, why am I telling you all this?

I guess its simply because I wanted someone to know of my life and the decisions that led to this moment of sheer bliss, that I am fulfilled, satisfied, content and above all else, free.

What, is that so strange to you but to me its an account of what good has transpired in my life from that very moment.

 Where am I now going?

For now its a secret after all results speak louder than any word can so you'll just to see it when we get there.

I saw a dream, no that's not true rather I saw a light, a beautiful bright light that shone in the depths of an eternally dark world. At first I thought,

"where am I?"

For wherever I looked I could only see darkness and that darkness looked back at me. Its gaze indifferent and undeniably cold so I turned and looked at the light. Its radiance threatening the darkness from ever encroaching upon its scared kingdom.

Seeing and beholding that light, that brilliant light, that most glorious light, I thought to myself,

'how beautiful'

Drawn in by its radiance I moved, I walked, I traversed all so I could reach that light, that most shining light in that deep, ugly darkness.

Then I reached it, its splendor more magnificent than the eyes of Huiwa, its glory more.. ethereal than those of the stars. How bright did light shine before my eyes

 Ohh that light...

 Ohh that glory...

 Ohh that splendor...

It drove me to the very brink just by merely being in the presence.

 I wanted to touch it...

 I wanted to feel it...

 I wanted to hold it...

It felt warm, its felt illusory, it felt light yet it burned my soul, it burdened my heart, it cut my spirit. In those few moments I could hold it, all those sensations passed through me as I laughed wildly, the pain being all to worth it all for the most glorious sake of holding the --

Abruptly waking up with strained breaths, Executos' being trembled ever so greatly as a churning his stomach forced him to wretch out whatever he had been served by his caretakers. His body prespiring so greatly such that the sheets were greatly wettened, the ugly sounds of wretching filling the room as he felt cold, his blind eyes dazed and quivering as his body turned pale, streams of blood flowing from all his orifices as he muttered greatly,

"@#$!!"

In an unknown language, he had lost himself as he had fallen from his bed into that pool of vomit, his stomach churning as he wretched again this time with white feathers dipped in blood flowing with the wretch. His body trembling ever so greatly with his eyes quivering more and more as time went by, blood flowing, tears streaming as he spoke continuously in that unknown language,

"@#$!!"

The small ray of moonlight barely illuminating what was going on with Executos whose body had begun to shrivel up immensely. The rapid loss of muscles left his body so cadaverous that he looked more skeletal with thin human skin covering whatever was inside such that it almost looked like the skin would tear off from the sudden surface area reduction. His robes moist with blood, faeces and vomit,

What a horribly disgusting sight it was as he struggled to stand-up his body constantly falling in to that pool of disgust that stained more and more of his already dirty robes, his eyes streaming with whatever tears they could muster, his voice already hoarse from the constant muttering of the strange language as his body trembled ever so greatly.

"@#$!!"

He wanted to call for help but the more he tried to do so the more the language overtook him and forced him to mutter it into existence, his mind agonized by the pain of the current scenario then a low, soft elderly voice echoed into his ears.

"Fall."

To which his body suddenly lost its strength and fell as ordered, though his eyes were blind in the flicker of whatever sanity he had within himself he knew that voice as it echoed once more, this time with a different instruction,

"leave"

Then it all stopped, the trembling, muttering, vomiting. Anything and everything that was wrong with him just stopped though his body remained cadaverous, extremely so but it all stopped.

Quietly walking towards the boy, the old woman from earlier spoke as she continued approaching the boy with slow, languid steps. The wolf's hide resting atop her crown as its jaws this time were fashioned into a necklace which she wore proudly,

"Boy, I had no idea how close to death you were. Forgive me."

She said as Executos lost consciousness. His body plopping in the pool of disgust he had formed as the old woman now finally reached the boy, her gaze indecipherable as she called a name and gave instructions to whatever arrived.
