As Spring comes by, the cherry blossoms petals rained as I walk on my way to school.
Students from all over town and far head their way to school for the entrance ceremony.
Well for me, I have a different plan in mind.
I, Yuki Sato, a 15-years old upcoming high school student, took a detour on my way to school.
I thought to myself that since I woke up early, I got plenty of time to wander about and relax for a moment in town.
I walked to a familiar street where the café is at.
Nothing out of the ordinary has happened on my way there, just couple of familiar faces that greeted me.
When I got to the café shop, I walk through the door and met with an unusual décor.
Every wall was made out of stone bricks that's been meticulously placed, decorated wood ceilings, and tiled floors like from rich people's houses, and It seems like I'm in a hallway of some sort.
"Was the café always this big inside?... uhm excuse me- huh!?" (Yuki)
I turned around to try and ask an employee about it, but the door has somehow banished and I was met only by a stone wall.
I tried looking around the stone wall for some sort of mechanism but to no luck.
"Damn it. I can't find anything. I feel like this is some sort of prank"
Given up on that, I started walking across the hallway to find a person to talk about my situation.
The hallway reminded me of a medieval interiors like from those mangas and animes I've seen.
"I wonder if somebody else is here? This place is pretty huge, so I doubt that there isn't a single person around here"
When I reached a corner, I took a peek and saw that there are a crowd of people.
Most of the people seems to be wearing a robe with different colors and underneath the robe is some sort of uniform.
As I was peeking, someone tapped on my shoulder and asked me a question.
"Uhm... excuse me? Are you perhaps lost?" (??)
That startled me and caused me to lose my balance and fall on the floor
"Ouch.. that hurts.." (Yuki)
When I look up, I saw a woman with a striking red hair, wearing a pointy hat and a robe, but the robe looks a bit different from the ones I saw earlier, hers has some golden embroidery on it.
"I'm sorry!! I didn't mean to startle you. I just thought that since there's a lot of new faces here, I might try and help around if I ever find someone getting lost in this big school. Here, let me help you get up" (??)
"School? This is a school?" (Yuki)
"Yes a Magic School, you silly. Are you not a student?" (??)
"I mean, I am... I'm just kind of lost, that's all" (Yuki)
"Oh I see... oops! I forgot to introduce myself again, silly me. My name is Olivia Caspher, you can just call me Ms Olivia. Nice to meet you uhm?" (Olivia)
"My name is Yuki Sato. Nice to meet you, Ms Olivia" (Yuki)
"Yuki... what an odd name you have. Just from you name, I'm guessing you're not from around here?" (Olivia)
"Uhm yes... I'm not... and what's a magic school?" (Yuki)
"Ah.. well magic school isn't that common after all. A magic school is a learning place for people who has an aptitude for magic and we as a teacher have to nurture their magical talent and help the students decide on what path they should walk" (Olivia)
"You're a Teacher here, Ms Olivia?" (Yuki)
"Why yes. I teach the Fundamentals and Structures of magic. I want to help students understand how magic works!" (Olivia)
"Woah! I wanna learn magic too! but... I don't know if I can use magic though" (Yuki)
"So you're new to magic then? if so, this is great! I love teaching students who's new to magic!" (Olivia)
"I am new. No one from where I live knows magic too, as far as I know" (Yuki)
"Huh... well We'll never know if we don't test it. So, come with me. We're going to check if you have aptitude for magic" (Olivia)
I followed Ms Olivia as she suggested.
We turned multiple corner until we reached the front of the school where new students enroll and it's also where they check if have aptitude for magic before enrolling.
"This is it, Sato. You should stand in line and wait your turn. While you do that, I'll try and help the other teachers. I'll come back once it's your turn. Bye byeee" (Olivia)
I waited in line like she said.
I noticed that there are a lot of students coming here, way too many for me to count, so I'm guessing it's around 500 students.
After several minutes of looking around the area, it's finally my turn.
"Good day to you lad. My name is Professor Kain Goldread, you can call me Professor Goldread" (Kain)
"Good day to you too. My name is Yuki Sato" (Yuki)
Professor Goldread looks like an intimidating teacher, he has a brown hair and a lightly shaved beard, he also wears a white robe with a different kind of gold embroidery on it.
"Fantastic... We got two set of crystals here. We got here an Aptitude Crystal. You put your hand on it and it glow if you have an aptitude for magic. The crystal on the right here is what we call a Measuring Crystal. It can measure how powerful your magic is. It has 7 layers of colors, from dark red on the bottom and white on the top" (Kain)
"What's the average color for most people?" (Yuki)
"It's red, 3rd layer from the bottom" (Kain)
"I see" (Yuki)
"Well, enough yapping and try placing your hand on the left crystal" (Kain)
I placed my hand on the crystal, but nothing happened
"Well that sucks. I guess magic ain't your thing lad" (Kain)
"as expected..." (Yuki)
"Move along now, there's still a line behind you" (Kain)
"Can I at least try the other crystal? Just out of curiosity" (Yuki)
"Sure, just make it quick. We don't have all day" (Kain)
I now placed my hand on the right crystal.
As soon as my hand touches the crystal, the whole crystal immediately began glowing white.
Everyone around me are either astonished, shocked, or confused.
"What in the world!?" (Kain)
After that, I quickly remove my hand from the crystal
"What was that? Is that normal" (Yuki)
"Geez... It's anything but normal, lad. You're not even enrolled yet and you're already giving me a headache. Ms Olivia! Could you take my place for a moment? I need to talk to the Headmaster" (Kain)
"Sure, Professor! You can count one me!" (Olivia)
"Great. Make sure the lad doesn't go anywhere"
I hope I'm not in big trouble...

I'm already working on Chapter 2 as of now, but I have no idea of when I'll release it
