"I was just checking on Chloe," Vlad explained, putting his phone back in his pocket.
"I am aware," Seraphina replied, her pink eyes still boring into his crimson ones. "She is not a child. Why do you worry about her so much?"
"What is she if not a child?" Vlad responded instantly, his tone turning serious. "You don't know her. She is just a baby."
Seraphina simply retorted at his words, her eyes rolling as she finally let go of his tie.
"Do not say that to her face or you will hurt her," she said, annoyance clear in her voice as she turned on her feet and moved forward.
Vlad did not understand what she meant. He quickly followed from behind and asked, "What do you mean?"
"It is not my place to say anything further."
"Come on, just tell me already, Sera."
"Shut it! And address me respectfully in public."
