Chapter 44: Moshi Moshi? This is Administrator D

"A vampire?"

"Negishi Akiko?"

"What is all this?"

Shiro blinked blankly, unable to fully grasp the situation. While she had some faint memories of her classmates from her previous life, their names were a total blur. Aside from Shiroishi

Shirazawa and the girl who used to bully her, Mirei Shinohara, she couldn't remember anyone else.

She had never had any interest in those people and had never spoken to them, so remembering them felt pointless. Occasionally, someone would suddenly try to talk to her, which would cause her to freeze up and "crash" on the spot, usually resulting in the other person blushing and running away for some inexplicable reason.

*Please do not talk to social outcasts randomly; they genuinely don't know how to respond and will just stand there lagging.*

So, who exactly was this Negishi Akiko? She looked like a reincarnator too. A classmate? And what the hell was with those 75,000 skill points?! Why did she only have 100 at the start? The gap was way too obvious. This was blatant discrimination! It had to be D's doing again.

Why did that girl get to be a cute vampire while she was turned into a terrifying spider monster? And her starting position was far too privileged.

*All roads lead to Rome, but some people are born in Rome.*

*Before the dust settles, I'm the beast of burden while everyone else is a dark horse.*

This was cheating! Unfair! Too much! Shiro fumed with indignation, her inner theater becoming hyperactive in an instant.

"Uh, are you okay?" Seeing Shiro's face twisting through a kaleidoscope of expressions as she wallowed in self-pity, Shirazawa couldn't help but ask.

"Eh?" Shiro snapped out of it, coughing awkwardly to cover her tracks. "N-nothing." She shook her head vigorously, tossing the stray thoughts aside. *Forget the worries; I'm totally not jealous at all, okay?*

"So, what's the deal?" She pointed at the baby in the Countess's arms. "Is she..?"

"She's our classmate. An outcast just like you. Have you really forgotten everything?" Shirazawa looked at Shiro as if he were looking at an idiot.

She rubbed her nose and gave a sheepish laugh. "I—I remember, of course. Negishi Akiko, right? Ahaha..."

"Ohoho, hohoho."

Shirazawa: "..."

Whatever. The Vampire Girl was safe; it was time to get back to finding the coastline. With the incident concluded, Shirazawa had no intention of lingering. "Let's go. Nothing more for us here." He signaled to her and turned to walk away.

"Are we just leaving her?" Following close behind, Shiro couldn't help but speak up, despite her envy of Sophia's "god-tier" start.

"We're monsters. Staying here will only bring trouble. It's better to leave as soon as possible." Shirazawa rejected the suggestion without hesitation.

"...Fine." Shiro pouted and followed.

"Wait! Please stay!" Seeing the two spiders preparing to leave, the Countess called out to them. Unfortunately, the duo didn't understand the language of this world and walked away without looking back.

"Madam, My Lord, are you hurt?" It wasn't until the spiders had completely vanished from sight that Mera, the butler, finally reacted and hurried forward.

"We're fine, but..." Count Keren trailed off. Everything that happened today was so surreal it was hard to believe.

"It must be the Divine Beast! A messenger sent by the Goddess to protect us!" the Countess declared with conviction, her eyes filled with hope and piety.

"Uh..." Count Keren and Mera were left speechless. Those were clearly just two monster spiders—how did that turn into Divine Beasts and Goddesses?

"Madam has a point," Keren said with a dry laugh, deciding to go along with it. It was better not to overthink such things. A man has to play dumb sometimes to keep life happy and harmonious. "This place isn't safe. We should return to the Earldom as quickly as possible."

"Agreed." The Countess gently stroked her daughter's face and nodded. The carriage resumed its journey toward the town.

...

"I say, Shirazawa, isn't that Vampire Progenitor thing a total cheat?"

"Why do reincarnators get treated so differently?"

On the other side, the two spiders—now nearing the coast—were chatting idly. More accurately, Shirazawa was silently listening to Shiro's various complaints. Recalling her tragic struggles after reincarnation and comparing them to Sophia's situation made her feel like her entire spider life was dim and colorless.

Shirazawa didn't know what to say. He couldn't exactly tell her, *"You were originally a spider, so reincarnating as a spider is actually quite logical."*

But speaking of which, since the souls of the other classmates were human, their starting skill points were generally high. Shiro only had 100 because a spider's soul is inherently weak. *But I'm not a spider soul, so why did I only have 100 too?*

He didn't need much—thirty thousand points would have prevented his early life from being so miserable. Dammit! It had to be D's fault. Thinking about it, his own sense of balance was starting to tilt!

And so, the two indignant spiders simultaneously projected endless resentment toward the Evil God D.

"Eh?" The sudden system voice rang in their minds.

"Conqueror?"

"What's going on?"

The two monsters looked at each other in bewilderment.

"Moshi moshi? This is Administrator D~"

A smartphone, looking entirely out of place, dropped from the sky and landed in front of them.

"Crap, did she hear our complaining and come to take revenge?"

"That's right, Miss Spider."

D's voice was as smooth and elegant as ever, with a hint of playfulness that made Shiro's hair stand on end.

"Relax, this person won't actually do anything. At most, she's just trying to scare us," Shirazawa said dismissively, exposing her on the spot without giving her any face.

"Wait, is that true?"

"As recognition of your strength, I've sent you a title as compensation," D said, seemingly unbothered, her tone remaining soft and gentle.

But the softer she sounded, the creepier Shiro felt.

"Just one? It would take at least ten to heal my wounded heart," Shirazawa pouted with disdain. For an Evil God, this was a bit stingy.

"Hmm... wait a moment, you two." D didn't argue; her presence simply went quiet.

This gave the two a strange sense of deja vu, as if she had done something similar before...

A long while later...
