"How annoying!"
He couldn't help but gnash his teeth, glaring at Shirazawa and Shiro in irritation.
Who exactly were these two spiders?
Why were they acting so ferociously, as if they'd taken the wrong medicine?!
"I didn't plan on using this move, but it seems I have no choice now."
Potimas shook his head, a crimson hue flickering in his eyes.
In an instant, the air temperature plummeted.
His remaining right hand shifted and transformed, eventually assembling into a high-tech firearm.

With the sound of mechanical gears locking into place, Potimas pulled the trigger.

An ice-blue energy bolt cut through the void, slamming into Shirazawa's chest and piercing right through his heart.
His face went pale, blood spilled from his lips, and the force of the impact sent him flying several meters before he collapsed to the ground.
"Shirazawa..."
Shiro cried out in alarm, rushing over to pull his body close, staring anxiously at the gaping hole in his chest.
"I'm fine, I'm fine. We have two bodies now; we'd be okay even if our heads were missing."
Shirazawa waved a hand and stood up as if nothing had happened.
"Be careful, though. That's an energy bolt created from converted MA energy. It's powerful enough to actually threaten our lives."
"Got it!"
Shiro nodded heavily, remaining on high alert.

Potimas pulled the trigger again, pouring down energy bullets like rain.
Rumble!
White smoke filled the area. The architecture of the hall took the brunt of the damage—collapsing, burning, and crumbling.
Heaven knows how much MA energy that old freak had hoarded; he was spraying bullets like they were free.
No wonder the world's collapse never stopped despite humans reincarnating for so many years and contributing so much energy. All that disappearing MA energy must have been sucked up by Potimas.

When the smoke cleared, several severed spider limbs lay on the ground.

In a flash, Potimas's body was twisted and deformed. Except for his head, everything was torn into scrap metal by the spatial distortion.
"Did I lose?"
Potimas, now reduced to just a head, murmured to himself, his face devoid of joy or sorrow.
It was only a clone, after all; its destruction was of little consequence.
It was a pity for such a perfect body, though; he had intended to use it against the Demon Lord.
To think it would be lost in a place like this... but just as he was lost in thought, the roof was torn off by a massive force.
A black shadow slammed down from above, stepping directly onto Potimas's head and crushing it into the floorboards.
"Tada~ The Demon Lord Girl, Ariel, makes her grand entrance!"
"Ta-da-da-da~"
A crisp, cheerful, and somewhat bouncy voice rang out as the cute loli-style Demon Lord descended from the sky.
After reciting her embarrassing entrance line, she even struck a "V" peace sign for good measure.

"..." Shirazawa stared at the sky, speechless.
This person's personality shift was a bit too drastic.

Shiro stared blankly at Ariel, unable to snap out of it for a long time.

"Hmm?"
Only then did the girl notice she was stepping on a... well, half a face.
"Potimas? Why are you here?"

"..." Potimas said nothing.
Ariel's face, which had been full of smiles, instantly turned dark and somber.
"Spit it out!"
A bone-chilling cold wave swept through the hall, freezing everything in its path.
Shirazawa and Shiro shuddered, unable to help catching a chill.

This was the Demon Lord Grandma they were familiar with.
Even though her personality had been assimilated by the Body Brain, her hatred for Potimas remained unchanged.

Potimas struggled to speak.
Seeing this, the girl narrowed her eyes. "That's a shame."
With those words, Ariel stomped her foot, crushing Potimas's head into dust, leaving nothing behind.
"Shirazawa, should we be running away about now?" Shiro swallowed hard and asked tentatively.
Shirazawa slowly shook his head, signaling her to stay calm.
"Alright then, you spider-chans over there..."
Ariel clapped her hands, her expression returning to the "moe" mode she had entered with, and skipped toward the two.
"Hey~ Let's have a ceasefire! What do you think?"
The girl's eyes sparkled, and she wore a brilliant smile.
The two: "..."
"Since Abyss Magic is useless against you, it means I have no way left to kill you anyway."
Ariel shrugged and spread her hands in a gesture of helplessness.
The two looked at each other, a drop of cold sweat sliding down their foreheads. They didn't have any spider eggs left to reincarnate with; all the previous ones had hatched into spider babies.
In other words, if they took a hit of Abyss Magic right now, they would truly be finished.
Of course, they weren't about to volunteer that information.
"And besides, I seem to have merged with that 'Former Body Brain' or whatever, so I don't really have the desire to keep fighting anymore!"
Ariel smiled sweetly, revealing a row of neat, white teeth. She looked so harmless it made one want to get closer.
"So, let's call a truce."
She held out a small, fleshy hand in an invitation.
