Ren would be the first one to admit that he went a little vicious in that match.
This was one thing that he discovered the moment he completely accepted this new identity and this new world of his. In his previous life, he probably would've never been this vicious. He used to be forgiving and accommodating, even to his enemies. But here, he's got no qualms squishing vulnerable parts of human bodies with his bare hands just to get the job done.
Sure, technically, this is VR, but still...
Anyway, that's just how it is, he supposes. Had he been the weaker party, those three would've had no problems hacking him to pieces. They won't be holding those weapons if they don't realize that their enemies will also aim theirs at them.
It's just that Ren had no better options; he's forced to be 'handsy' to deal with his enemies.
