Sadly, Shen Yu had work the next morning, and the realization that they would have to part ways made Jiang Li feel like crying. The night had already become something he never wanted to end, and the thought of returning to his empty apartment without Shen Yu beside him made his chest feel strangely hollow. Still, Shen Yu drove him home, and by the time the car finally stopped outside Jiang Li's apartment building, the clock had already passed three in the morning.
The streets were almost completely silent at that hour. Most of the windows in the surrounding buildings were dark, and the occasional streetlamp cast a pale glow over the empty road. Jiang Li remained in the passenger seat for a moment, reluctant to leave even though he knew Shen Yu needed to rest before work.
Eventually, he forced himself to open the door.
"Goodnight, Shen Yu," he murmured, his voice soft with reluctance.
