Chapter 4 - Chapter 3: Finally, Komuro Takashi's Screen Appears

After his match against Busujima Saeko, Sephiroth requested to leave early. The club president, considering he had just been "taught a lesson" by Busujima Saeko, readily let him go.

Meeting up with Takagi Saya, Sephiroth followed the somewhat awkward, tsundere girl with the twin ponytails towards her house.

"Saya, why didn't you let your family pick you up?" Sephiroth asked, puzzled. Saya wasn't the type to deliberately avoid the car just to be like everyone else.

"It's all Mom's fault! She said I should exercise a bit and forbade me from driving!" Takagi Saya said resentfully.

"Who told you to even make excuses to skip physical education class?" Sephiroth shrugged.

"Shut up!" Takagi Saya yelled at Sephiroth.

"Yes, yes." Sephiroth chimed in.

Then, a quiet and ambiguous atmosphere slowly emerged between the two when they were alone.

"...What did you finally say to Busujima-senpai?" Arriving at Takagi's house, Takagi Saya, after a long journey, finally asked the question that had been bothering her. Her keen observation skills noticed a clear change in Sephiroth's whispering with Busujima Saeko.

"Guess?" Sephiroth smiled, his eyes narrowing as he looked at Takagi Saya.

"Hmph! I'm not going to say!" Takagi Saya huffed and walked quickly towards the house.

"Saya!" Sephiroth watched Takagi Saya's retreating back for a moment, then suddenly called out to her.

"Want to say it?" Takagi Saya turned around, still somewhat annoyed, looking at Sephiroth.

Sephiroth stared intently at Takagi Saya until she shifted slightly in discomfort, then seriously asked, "Saya, now that Rei is Hisashi's girlfriend, are you planning to go find Komuro Takashi again?"

Although he didn't explicitly state that he knew Takagi Saya's feelings for him, Sephiroth believed that with her intelligence, she would understand.

"...I..." Takagi Saya's face instantly lost its color, then flushed red, her expression changing in an instant.

Seeing Takagi Saya's reaction, Sephiroth knew she hadn't let go of her feelings for Komuro Takashi, and could only helplessly say, "I only noticed you when you gave up hope on Komuro Takashi. Before that, you were just my friend."

After saying that, Sephiroth ignored Takagi Saya's increasingly pale face and, without hesitation, turned and walked into the house.

"Are you really going to let go of that twin ponytail?" the usually secretive Main God asked suspiciously.

"How could I? If she hasn't given up hope on Komuro Takashi, then let me help her give up hope." Sephiroth replied to the Main God with a smile on his face.

"As expected of someone who dares to use 'My goal is the harem' to reject a man's confession." The Main God once again exposed Sephiroth's dark past.

"Thank you for the compliment." However, Sephiroth had clearly abandoned the idea of integrity hindering the grand plan of the harem.

Sephiroth and the Main God argued all the way home to a rented room near the school.

Throwing his coat and bag onto the table, Sephiroth first turned on his computer to check his account, discovering that the mission payment had been deposited.

The orphanage that had adopted Sephiroth was actually a contact point for an assassin organization, responsible for collecting orphans who could be raised as assassins. Therefore, Sephiroth became an assassin, sometimes taking on espionage missions. There was nothing wrong with that; he always wanted to earn money, and it also allowed him to train Xenovia's bloodline transformation abilities and increase his own combat experience. So, after using the knowledge he gained to deal with the assassin organization, Sephiroth chose the path of an assassin. This was also the reason why Sephiroth frequently requested time off.

After checking his inbox, Sephiroth discovered several more commissioned tasks, but since he planned to rest for a while, he ignored them and closed his computer before taking a shower.

He heated up some fast food and ate dinner, then started checking the news. After all, if anything related to the mission were to happen, the news would surely be the first to report it.

"Sephiroth, an 'event' is about to happen." Just as Sephiroth was feeling bored and about to go to sleep, the Supreme God's words startled him.

"It's finally here! I've been waiting for 10 years! What kind of 'event' is it?" Sephiroth asked anxiously.

"It's not confirmed yet, but I can sense it will be tomorrow at the latest." The Supreme God said helplessly.

"Don't tell me you're relying on intuition to guess!" Sephiroth yelled.

"It's not intuition, it's the Supreme God's special feeling," the Supreme God said seriously.

"Okay, I understand. I'll get ready," Sephiroth replied solemnly.

Sephiroth was incredibly excited by the upcoming "event," experiencing both the initial unease of facing the unknown and the relief of finally getting on track. He almost didn't sleep a wink.

The next morning, Sephiroth placed the M9 pistol and 150 rounds of ammunition he had prepared the night before into a small bag. His real weapon, the 2.5-meter-long "Masamune," which he had chosen at the Supreme God's suggestion, was simply wrapped in a cloth.

For some reason, Sephiroth always had a feeling that he was meant to use this type of sword, so he didn't refuse the Main God's recommendation.

Taking advantage of the time before school opened, Sephiroth climbed over the fence into the school, hid the gun in the shoe locker, and put Masamune on the rooftop. After completing all this, Sephiroth sneaked out of school and waited until class time to openly enter the school through the main gate.

"Yesterday there was another biting incident, it seems to be happening more and more often." After the first class ended, Igou Hisashi once again brought up yesterday's topic with Miyamoto Rei, Sephiroth, and Takagi Saya.

The situation today seemed to be the opposite; Sephiroth, who should have been boring, was instead serious, while Takagi Saya, who usually displayed a thoughtful expression, was uneasy. During class, she occasionally glanced at Komuro Takashi, then at Sephiroth, her face showing a mixture of emotions.

"Something must be about to happen. I have a bad feeling." Sephiroth, without blushing or breathing heavily, took credit for the God's warning.

"I feel the same way. It seems something terrible is about to happen. Saya, what about you?" Miyamoto Rei frowned, looking at Takagi Saya.

"Ah? Um..." Takagi Saya completely ignored Miyamoto Rei's words, still preoccupied with her own thoughts.

"Alright, it seems we can't rely on her. Speaking of which, Sephiroth, do you know what happened to Saya? You took her home yesterday, right?" Miyamoto Rei looked suspiciously at Sephiroth.

"You should ask her about that," Sephiroth shrugged, avoiding the question.

However, Miyamoto Rei assumed Sephiroth didn't know the reason either, so she gave up on questioning him.

Not far away, Komuro Takashi watched the four people chatting harmoniously, clenched his fists, and stormed out of the classroom.

After the bell rang, everyone returned to their seats, but Komuro Takashi skipped class again.

On the way to class, a commotion suddenly erupted at the school gate. From the rooftop, Komuro Takashi clearly saw someone attacking the school gate, and school staff members were being bitten. Remembering the recent news reports about the biting incidents, Komuro Takashi immediately rushed back to the classroom.

At the same time, the voice of the Main God echoed in Sephiroth's mind.

"Main Quest 1: Ensure Takagi Saya's safety today. Reward: 5000 points."
