The 16th Floor: The Whispering Void-Sea was not a battlefield of stone and metal like the previous level. It was a vast, dark ocean under a sky of infinite, weeping stars. The "water" was not water at all, but liquid shadows that drained the life force and mana of anyone who touched it.

Austin looked at the dark waves. He could hear the "whispers"—the lingering echoes of the thousands of geniuses who had drowned here, their levels and souls consumed by the shadows. To a normal cultivator, even a Level 500 Emperor-heir, this floor was a death trap. The suppression of flight meant they had to swim or use boats, exposing them to the life-draining liquid.
"Mana consumption increased?" Austin smirked. "My Primordial Origin Root doesn't use standard mana. It breathes the Source."
He stepped off the shore. But he didn't sink.
As his boot touched the liquid shadow, he activated his talent, Law-Weaver of the Void. The shadows beneath his feet didn't drain him; instead, they stiffened, turning into solid, violet-tinted glass. Austin began to walk across the ocean as if it were a paved highway.
From the depths, a massive, multi-eyed silhouette began to rise. The Abyssal Kraken. Its tentacles, each a mile long and covered in soul-sucking barnacles, breached the surface, whipping the shadow-sea into a frenzy.
"You're in the way," Austin said.
He didn't wait for the monster to attack. He initiated the Primordial Chaos Scripture. The aura around him changed from a simple pressure to a gravitational singularity. The liquid shadows of the sea began to spiral toward him, not to drain him, but because they were being forcibly devoured by his presence.
He unleashed [Sovereign Command: Kneel].
The Kraken, a Mythical beast that had existed since the Tower's creation, felt a weight land on its spirit that it couldn't comprehend. Its massive tentacles were pinned to the surface of the sea. It tried to let out a roar, but the air in its lungs was turned to lead by Austin's command.
Austin flickered, appearing on the Kraken's central head. He didn't use a flashy skill. He simply used his Genesis Marrow Refinement technique to harden his arm into a tool of absolute destruction. He plunged his hand through the beast's thick, armored skull as if it were wet paper.

He turned his gaze toward the far horizon where the 17th floor portal waited. He was clearing floors so fast that the Tower's internal leaderboard was starting to glitch, unable to display his true "Power Rating."
