The Grandmaster paused, his eyes widening slightly, though he did not look entirely shocked by the request. Even Balzac peeked out from his painted beach chair, lowering his sunglasses to listen.
"Is this something urgent?" the Grandmaster asked, leaning forward over his desk.
"It is something personal," Solomon responded flatly. He crossed his arms and added, "And since I am officially considered a VIP student who just secured a massive asset for the academy, I am sure my demands should be fulfilled without much hassle."
The Grandmaster laughed softly, shaking his head at the boy's blatant manipulation. "You do not need to leverage your VIP status for this. Second-year students are legally permitted to take a week-long leave of absence once every semester."
Solomon shrugged his shoulders. "Then I would like to use that leave right now."
