Aden is now Saudi Arabia's bridgehead in Yemen, and the airport is naturally of utmost importance.
Therefore, the airport is heavily guarded, with forces of at least a regiment stationed there, including the Air Force, ground crew, and guard troops. This place is basically a large military camp.
The Houthis Armed Forces can no longer threaten the airport. Now that they've been driven out of Aden, the only offensive they can launch is small-scale raids. Hence, the airport has made very targeted arrangements against such small scattered attacks.
The main road leading to the airport is filled with checkpoints, each consisting of roadblocks, sandbag machine gun positions, Humvees with mounted heavy machine guns, and infantry fighting vehicles.
Each checkpoint is guarded by two M2A3 Infantry Fighting Vehicles. The M2A3 has a 25mm automatic cannon, a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun, and two twin-tube TOW anti-tank missiles on its turret's left side.
