A little later, surprisingly, they followed a path up the mountain, with winding steps leading upwards. Dim street lamps on both sides of the steps provided illumination.
This gave the place more of a secret garden feel. Moving forward, between the hills, stood a very luxurious European-style building, but Hao Yuan didn't lead them there. Instead, they veered off in the middle, and Hao Yuan took out a phone for illumination, heading toward the garden on the left that had been pruned by someone.
Initially, there seemed to be no path, but after walking a bit, they unexpectedly saw a small stone staircase.
In the woods, it was naturally very dark.
Most of the moonlight was blocked by tree leaves, leaving only a few specks filtering through the gaps. The surrounding insects chirped, and besides that, it was quite silent. Below, it seemed to get livelier, but the lively sounds, by the time they reached here, had become faint, gradually disappearing altogether.
