Himarun
It was the monsoon season.
From around 2 PM, the sky began to weep, its sorrow pouring onto the earth as rain.
At one point, that weeping turned into a scream. An outburst of long-held rage.
Thunder struck in various corners of the eastern sky, and with each strike came a burst of color. Sometimes blue, sometimes white, sometimes red, and at times, violet.
As a child, I used to be terribly afraid of thunderstorms. But growing up, I’ve come to enjoy them deeply.
That day was no exception.
While watching nature’s wrath with my pet cat Mithi, a strange question struck my mind:
‘Could these lightning bolts be opening some sort of supernatural door somewhere?’
‘A mystical door…!’
A portal to a different, perhaps even a third world?
A world where survival requires constant struggles.
Where one must face death over and over again.
Where internal conflict arises for both logical and illogical reasons.
In that relentless struggle, timid boys and girls gradually become brave.
They search for a way back.
Back to their ordinary world.
Their ordinary lives.
But to find that path home, they must first solve a series of bizarre riddles.
And in search of those answers, they must journey through perilous mountains, dense forests, vast deserts, and icy wastelands.
Will they succeed in the end?
Or will they lose their precious lives along the way?
