My Tribrid System: More than a Monster

Fifty years ago, a shower of meteors descended from the skies. With them came a strange, colorful mist that wiped out ten percent of humanity and changed the world forever. Ten years later, the real nightmare began. From beyond the stars came the Abberants — massive, intelligent, ape-like creatures standing over nine meters tall. Stronger, faster, technologically superior, they declared themselves the rightful rulers of Earth and plunged humanity into a war it never asked for. On the brink of extinction, humanity survived only because of one miracle. Meta-Humans. Humans who awakened extraordinary abilities and pushed the Abberants back. Some shared their powers to protect mankind. Others hoarded them, turning strength into bloodline privilege. Ray Dawson was never one of them. Just an ordinary boy with an ordinary life, working in secret to save enough money to buy an ability book and change his fate — without his mother ever knowing. The day his dream was supposed to come true, everything was taken from him. An Abberant attack left Ray with nothing but rage, grief, and a shattered future. Sent to a brutal survival camp meant to forge soldiers, Ray’s life should have ended quietly like countless others. Instead, an accident changed everything. ... Teen Tourney

Over 300 years since 2025, it is now 2376. 250 years ago, humanity gained a god given gift in the form of global exposure an unidentified energy that had descended onto Earth via a cosmic radiation dust cloud from space. It fundamentally altered the genes of humans, and soon after global reports detailing people exhibiting mutations that enabled them to perform feats previously thought impossible, such as pyrokinesis, cryokinesis, flight, enhanced strength, and many more things seeming straight out of comic books, we're commonplace. Over time, this became the new norm as humans displayed their natural super power if adapting to the survive, and stronger abilities started being passed down from parents who had abilities to their kids, and their kids gained either a fusion or stronger version of one. Now, 100% of all humans have some type of superhuman ability, and it is predicted that abilities will only get stronger as time goes on. 75 years ago, under the guise of a source of public entertainment and training, the U.S. Government founded a tournament established for young people coming into their powers. On the surface, it was just that, but in reality, it was a way to document and study Ultras and their powers in a legal way. The toirnament quickly became a hit, and it was nicknamed Teen Tourney. People from ages 13 to 17 could competing for prizes including cash or fame would duke it out in a giant Coliseum in front of millions of fans. And now 75 years later in June 23rd, 2376, the year of the 75th anniversary of the Teen Tourney, a shocking revelation and announcement has been made. The Teen Tourney, previously only based in America, would now be open on an international scale as a way to promote unity and national pride as well as forging connections to last with talented young Ultras from abroad. The revelation simultaneously shocked and encouraged the world, and soon countless teens became flooding to Alaska, the state which holds the tournament every year. The largest number of participants has been registered in its history: nearly 450,000 worldwide. That might not seem like a lot compared to the 26.9 billion humans on Earth, but not many are confident of winning, and the risk of injury or even death, although not encouraged and actively working to be prevented, is possible and it is that possibility that discourages many who are not confident in their abilities, or combat prowess. 14 year old High-school Freshman, and New Orleans native Ricky Gautier has always been a bit different. He likes to scrap, often managing to win even with the Civilian Livelyhood Inhibitors Chip or as their commonly called, "CLICs" that automatically restrain a Combat Ultra's powers when they're in a public setting such as school. But for all he loves fighting, he never imagined he'd register for Teen Tourney. But when his dad bounces, taking everything from his mom, leaving them in steep debt. He imagines it for the first time as an actual possibility. And when his sister contracts I.A.D. (Incompatible Ability Disorder), he doesn't have the choice to hesitate. And now, he finds himself on the biggest moment of his life. It's do or die, and he's always been a go getter...
