2035 was written in history as the year where humanity finally began to turn their sights into the skies after earth resources would no longer sustain them for long luckily the food was no longer scarce but freshwater was beginning to decrease so expeditions were made to collect water from asteroids that contained frozen ice in large quantities and return them to earth but unfortunately when the first ship left the solar system they were noticed by two major galactic powers that were warring each other and they turned their sights on the milky way galaxy as a strategic point to base themselves and each galactic empires invaded one side of the planet and began to indiscriminately, attack and conquer. the leaders of the political world knew that there was no way to fight back and chose there last remaining option besides becoming slaves with uncertain futures.... Mutual Destruction.
Soon in 2036 when humanity was on its last legs each leader of every country that still stood activated their entire nuclear arsenals and turned them to themselves while pinpointing invading forces. In an hour and a half the galactic empires experienced their biggest loss yet and without any gain remaining on earth they left the milky way galaxy seeing no more reason to stay there and continued warring each other in the nearby quadrant of the universe. On that day a total 87% of humanities population was turned into ashes or died during the invasion, while the entire planet was covered in a layer of dark clouds and the land became an endless wasteland.

In a small cubicle in the middle of an office building, a plan was built in case of the destruction of the world with a year later shelters were built by multiple private and state-owned companies, in the depths of the earth, that were able to contain millions of people. These shelters we're all connected but in fear of country spies all connectors we're sealed and locked by each country and could only be removed by each overseer of the shelter. Unknown to the public each country held a raffle with the names of every citizen of their country and the lucky selected we're assigned nearby shelters and rooms according to their number. These raffles were conducted every 5 years with the names changing with the age limit being 0-55 with the only exceptions being scholars. After ten years of deliberation, it was decided to build the central hub on the west coast of the united states and everyone was to be put into a virtual simulation while being in suspended animation until the atmosphere of the earth became liveable. It was decided whoever was able to rack in the highest amount of merit points will be the leader of the new earth and that this person language will become the main language of new earth uniting the world after it's destruction.
