Just because you are living a "ground hog day" don't just assume that it revolves around you. Just because it went back to the beginning of the day after you died, most certianly does not mean the day ended when you died. In almost all cases, the day went along as normal after you were gone until the reset point was reached. Die in the wrong cycle or mess around too much and you'll have to live with the consequences.
