Chapter 13 - The Chess Board

On the entrance of Takigakure, Daniel was standing there, his presences was so low that even if he stood right behind you, another useful trick he learned on his half millennia journey in the wilds in the multiverse.

"Hmm, let's hope that these weaklings will amuse me enough" said Daniel coldly.

Daniel was a bit excited, he developed a love for fights between life and death, but what he loved the most was that moment of victory. He is addicted to victory, addicted on the feelings of crushing his opponents, of giving them despair, but of course that doesn't mean always the need to be in a Battle to give his foes desperation, he have other ways to do so.

Walking on the road leading to the Kage building, Daniel was calculating his next steps yet again ,he wants to leave no weak points in his schemes, to have no makes no faults, to have no regrets.

Just when he going to enter the building, he remembered something, be wanted to test something, so he changed his path to the nearest civilian, put a perfectly made face of kindness with a slight of naivenesss and said with a smile.

"Excuse me miss, could you tell me where is the bank? I am new here, I was going to ask the respected guards on the door of the kage building, but they looked so scary... so can you please give me some direction?"

"Sure, its the times of war, us, the civilians needs to stick together in this endless clash between between the villages"

"Thank you very much miss"

Maybe it was his face that lakes maturity, maybe it was his friendly attitude, or maybe it was his good looks. But the women he talked with suspected nothing, it was the times of war, travelers are nothing new here especially from the smaller villages, they are the most damaged, either from the ninjas or from the bandits, they get most the damage from this.

'War never change, The world you are living in matters not' said Daniel in his mind.

During his walk with the lady towards the bank, witch he insisted on, he asked her about random things, like if how are she during this hard times? where do she lives and how long she stayed here? is her family OK? All this while creating a fake identity telling her about his supposed past to get her open her heart to him, getting him into the cycle of civilians, he is planing to be here for a long time, so of course he have to do what it must to keep himself under cover, first he asked her about herself, making it about her current state giving an facade of someone caring and worrisome about the others, then he asked about her current social status, boosting the first image he gave, the he asked about her family, in this times loosing one's family is a daily thing, and hooray he hits the jackpot, like he predicted, she was an orphan, a perfect pawn material, someone from the circle, someone with a that was living here for a while, and someone without any ninja background having her parents dead by bandits while traveling for living and not being married, indeed a perfect pawn material, Roma wasn't build and one day so is manipulating someone.

Time passes really quick, after getting a job from the bank as an accountant, meeting Mitsuki, the woman he meet during his first day in Takigakure ,the same woman that was slowly being manipulated by him during this time into the perfect pawn and the best cover, he also managed to find a way to get the Anbus's eyes away from him, and getting a good advance in his soul cultivation, it seems that the order he gave the AI worked like wonders, focusing on the Yin side of the Justus he gain from the tribe he killed before getting in Takigakure was a good decision he made, the results was creating a weakened version of the technique that was shown in the Gosu manhwa, Life Draining technique, with it being able of absorbing only the soul energy that is being generated passively from the targets adding it to his own. It's obvious he didn't use it on the ninjas, but instead on the civilians that was getting to the bank, being a neutral organization, the bank was a good way for the economical exchanges between the villages and was being protected by this last, and the civilians were no unfamiliar for such acts, having most of them getting their money they made in the banks for numerous reasons from the effectiveness of the organization in the other villages to the unfortunate future events that may happen to them afterwards. It was a good deal for the weakest class of the civilization.

It was three years from his first step into this land, every pawn is in its place, and its already checkmate.
