Luke was standing still behind the corridor of the kitchen and he can hear all their conversations. As a wolf it's one of their abilities to hear things from afar. His heart is rejoicing to find out his Mate is in love with him. But he need to act as if he knows nothing. He still needs time to prepare Selena for a new world. He can't forget that she is still a human and mating with her is a process with an aftermath. There is a pain that she needs to endure at the end of mating.
"Sorry it took me long. I had a phone call". Luke said casually and placed the glass of water on the table. This was his excused earlier.
"I think we need to leave. It's getting late". Drew said while looking at his wristwatch. "Thank you for the wonderful meal, it's an honor to dine with you". He said politely with respect.
"It's my pleasure!". Selena replied though she didn't understand why Drew is very grateful in a weird way. But she likes his attitude. He is a good person and also she was thankful that Luke seems to forgot about the question Drew throw at her.
The four men left and the two of them are all alone. Selena starts to clean the table.
"Let me help you". Luke offered.
"No need, I can take care of this". Selena was hesitant. In her mind he is the owner of the house and they are just his guest. She don't want to trouble him with simple things like dishes.
"You already cook, I think I should be the one doing the dishes".
"But this is your house. This is nothing for the trouble my Mom and I are giving you".
"No trouble at all".
"Thank you!".
Silence.
"Did you like staying here at my place?". Luke broke the ice.
"Yes of course!". Selena said with simple glance and a smile.
"Would you like to stay here long?".
Selena paused and was puzzled with his question but she still answered it. "Sure why not".
"Like forever?". Luke continued.
The plates Selena's holding almost falls back to the table again. Good thing she was fast enough to hold them tight but the spoon and forks falls down. She was startled by his question. She looked at Luke with wide and questioning eyes. Then snap back of what she was doing.
"Oh my God, I'm so sorry!". She is panicking. She put back the plates to the table and start picking up the other utensils.
"No that's my fault, I startled you". Luke is pushing the blame to him and start to help her.
"No the plates really slip from my grip".
"Selena".
"What?".
"Would you like to stay by my side for a long time? ". Luke was staring at Selena's eyes then hold her hands tightly. The sincerity on his face was clear to see.
Selena was in shocked again. She felt weak and everything in her hands falls down. Then she felt Luke's hands hold hers.
'What is happening right now, why is he asking me this questions?'. She asked herself.
"Stay by my side..... Like forever!". Luke holds Selena's hands tighter than before as if he don't want her to go anywhere.
"I.... I.... Luke". She was drained of words and her brain seems to stop thinking rationally. All she can feel is his warm hands against her.
Originally Luke wants to wait until Selena is ready for him. But being with her alone makes him and his wolf restless plus the fact that his wolf is taunting him. He is whining inside his head. Saying that they've been waiting for her for almost a lifetime and now that she's here, he is not taking her with him. What if they lost her. She is an unmarked Mate and can be claim by anyone, at anytime. They will going to lose their rights to have her if she is still running around unmarked.
"I love you since the first day I saw you Selena Moon". Luke confessed with all his heart.
'That was fast'. Selena's thought is in chaos. But she is loving what he is saying.
"I don't care if you believed me or not but I will prove it to you everyday if I have to". Luke said with all sincerity.
Selena wasn't speaking but her thoughts is very noisy. 'I was suppose to seduce him, why is he confessing all of a sudden?'. Her brain is wrecking and inside she's freaking. Selena can't find answers to her own questions.
"Please allow me to prove myself. That my heart beats only for you". Luke stared at his Mate's beautiful hazel brown eyes and he can feel a power that wants to suck his whole being and stay forever in her gaze.
Selena was frozen still. Luke is staring at her and she also did the same thing. His deep blue sea colored eyes are drowning her thoughts. She blink and her gaze drops to his lips. She gulped down and felt a lump inside her throat. She feels like her lips are drying of thirst she lick them slowly.
Luke watched how Selena's little pinkish tongue wet her lips. He feels thirsty. He slowly bend his head to reach her cherry red lips. When they touched each other he can't help himself but to savor the sweetness of his Mate's sweet lips.
The gentle way Luke is pleasuring her lips makes her asked for more. Her feet moved and she is almost standing by her toe. Luke is a very tall man and she feels like he will leave her lips if he stand straight. She felt Luke's hands moved and guided her arms around his neck.
