Ivory found herself sitting at the edge of the Queen sized bed she shared with Blue; the cream, silk sheets tickled her skin as she rubbed her hand along the fabric. Blue leaned against the wall with crossed arms.
"Ivory, we have to act like a couple," Blue replied.
Ivory frowned. "How are we supposed to do that? We can't pretend that we love each other."
"Most people marry for allegiance, finances, property, and security. We aren't that strange in comparison to the average couple," he uncrossed his arms and sat down next to her. "You have all of those perks just by being with me. You can have whatever you want, whenever you want. You don't have to work another day in your life as my wife," he took her hand into his and squeezed it. "Just be how you were before; I want you to appreciate me and keep your loyalty as before, just that your role in the gang is different. You are climbing the social ladder."
Ivory peered into his eyes and then looked down at the plush cream colored carpet on the floor. Remember rule 1 she thought to herself. It didn't take much to anger Blue, and the one thought that would set off his fuse is him questioning her loyalty.
That was not something that Ivory wanted to happen.
"I am loyal to you, Blue," she looked up at him. "I just didn't want the situation downstairs to escalate. I just hate fighting."
Blue remained silent for a few moments, and then gently tapped her lower back.
"Well, there won't be any more fighting now," Blue smiled down at her. "You know what I want right now, don't you, Ivory?"
Ivory nodded and tried her best to not bite her tongue. Blue always sent shivers down her spine.
Blue lifted Ivory up and held her to his chest, and before she could blink, she found herself lying on the bed with Blue on top of her. This was not what she envisioned, she didn't think Blue would be her first ..... and her last, though, she needed to pretend that he was her true love, give him what he wanted. That was what he demanded, that they act like a couple.
So she would play his game, though she was unsure of how long she'd play until she found the courage to escape. It was hard for her to think with Blue at her neck and hands that roamed her entire body, though he was too strong to fight off, so for now, she would not anger him, give him what he wanted, and then figure out how she would be free of him once and for all.
She closed her eyes and let her thoughts consume her.
