For most cultivators, the journey would require boarding a fleet and crossing the vast expanse of space over several days. Emery, however, did not need such delays. Through the Khaos Waypoint network, he could appear in Golden City within moments whenever he wished.
So instead of leaving, he returned to his cultivation chamber and stepped once more into his inner domain.
His dark avatar remained immersed in its year-long comprehension.
For the past twelve months, it had devoted itself entirely to deciphering the inheritance left behind by the Lord of Khaos, yet progress had come only through relentless effort. The five Khaos Arts carved upon the ancient stone wall were unlike anything Emery had encountered before.
