Once he was done assimilating all the knowledge he needed from Suigetsu, Daiki stared at the docile teen within the tube.
'Should I kill him?' Daiki wondered idly for a moment. It wouldn't be too hard to recruit him he was sure. Sasuke was about as charismatic as a plank of wood and he managed it in the other timeline.
The slight problem was, Suigetsu's whole thing, was that he wanted to collect the weapons of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Hidden Mist.
And that just wouldn't do considering the Kiba blades belonged to him, and he rest would be returned to the Mist. He could replicate them given enough time.
But did he want to waste the time doing so just for a guy like Suigetsu?
'You know what, fuck it.' Daiki decided with a shrug, 'Mei can deal with him.' he concluded. Until then, he could stay nice and docile in his test tube.
Perhaps he could be a good addition to Mei's forces and lead the seven ninja. Chojuro was a massive putz after all.
So putting the Hozuki out of mind. Daiki turned on his heel and left the room behind. And from there, began making his way back through the long winding halls of the underground base, back towards the entrance.
He was done here and he had gotten everything he'd wanted, and more.
It wasn't long before he stepped out of the huge stone snake maw that functioned as the entrance to the base, into the deep, dark forest it was situated in and turned to face it.
He lifted his hand up-
There was a puff of smoke at his side, and a familiar large purpled scaled chameleon appeared at his side.
"Daiki, I have returned successful once more-" she paused and looked around, before her rippled eyes landed on the huge rocky snake maw, "This is not Konoha."
He grinned at her, "Nope, this is one of Orochimaru's bases, I figured I'd take care of these now that the snake bastard is done and dusted," Daiki replied, before lowering his hand, "More importantly though, you succeeded? So you got some then?"
She rolled her eyes, "Was there ever any doubt?" she sassed back, "the tricky part was simply figuring out where he kept them. That was why it took so long. The old warmonger has been in a particularly good mood though, little to no schemes at all lately. So he paid little thought to them until just a few hours ago."
Daiki's eyebrow raised, "A good mood?"
"Exceedingly so for Shimura Danzo, the old fossil was even smiling at times, it was quite odd," Toka snorted, "Quite frankly, Danzo is simply over the moon because of you becoming Hokage. Honestly, you could have just asked him to give you them and he would have happily done so."
True.
And Daiki had thought of it, before dismissing it. In the end, he wanted to keep his acquisition of them, under lock and key for as long as possible. And let as few people know as possible.
Though, he'd need to let at least once in the know considering he'd need to learn techniques for it, from Yama-
"As it was, I took the liberty of peeking at the scrolls he had on the training and techniques he had for it, and copied them for you," Toka cut off his thought, a smug grin on her scaly face as she lifted her clawed foot up, holding a sealing scroll out for him to take, "I want a more exciting mission next time. This one was far too easy, and a bore at that."
Despite himself, Daiki's second eyebrow rose, joining the second in surprise, "Seriously?" he laughed, grinning as he accepted the scroll and sealed it away in his palm seal.
She was as thorough as always huh? And that just made things way simpler for him.
Truly the Chameleon clan were the best!
Toka snorted again, "Again, was there ever any doubt? It was pitifully easy. For a group that prides itself on stealth, Root weren't much trouble to get around," she huffed, "Now then. You said if I accomplished this, you would have a much more exciting mission for me, right?"
That he did.
But-
"That can wait for now," he waved her off, making the huge purple scaled lizard pout at him, "How has your fathers Senjutsu training been going?"
She gave him a bland look, "A waste of time. You do remember my father can already use Senjutsu, or have you forgotten?" Toka asked.
"No, I haven't forgotten," Daiki shrugged, "But that was the Snake clans Senjutsu. And it wasn't like he trained for that, the Snake clans way of learning senjutsu isn't something that can be taught. Only forced on someone by the White Snake Sage."
He ran a hand through his hair and smirked at her, "I wanted your father to learn the toads way of doing it, so he can make it his own and use what he learned, to teach it to other members of the Chameleon clan."
"And yourself." she added.
"And me," Daiki shamelessly laughed, "It would have been much easier for me mind you, if I just went through the same process of learning it as your father. But, that would require signing the snake contract, and I don't think that's an option."
Even if he did have the snake summoning contract in his possession now. It was however, an option for Anko.
Which he meant to get around to speaking to her about. He'd just been too busy lately. Her chakra levels were bordering on the lower Kage-tier the last time he'd seen her thanks to the increase she got from the Orochimaru fragment.
And between it, and her massive resistance to poison thanks to the training she'd been put through with Orochimaru. The odds on her acquiring Sage Mode, weren't that low.
And even if she died in the process, he could revive her. And she'd gain it anyway. It was a win, win really.
"Definitely not," Toka shook her head with a harumph, "Father is not too fond of his sire's side of the family. So, I suppose I see your point then. Though, you could have just learnt from the toads yourself."
"Wish I could have," Daiki sighed, "But, I've been way too busy for it. This way though, the whole Chameleon clan will be strengthened in time, and I'll be able to just learn it at my leisure."
There was the issue of course, of the Chameleon's not having access to the toad oil that helped learn senjutsu. But, he had Jugo now.
Given enough time, he was sure he could create something better using Jugo. Especially since, he already knew how to form cursed seals, or rather, the much superior Heavenly Seals, he'd just been lacking Jugo for it.
Now he didn't.
'I could probably outright make an entire area using the seals for Senjutsu training. And even input fail safes to reduce the risk of turning to stone or any other horrible fate from it.' he mused.
In time, he might even be able to make it safe for much more people to learn the art, or at least attempt it. At the end of the day, Senjutsu was an incredible difficult skill to master.
Of course, the idea of just letting every Tom, Dick and Iwa scum know of it and get the chance for it, never crossed his mind. Instead, he would reward those who he deemed worthy of it, and those whom earned it through merit.
The same way he would bestow the Heavenly Seal upon people in the future through the same process. Giving them not only the Sage Transformation, but Senjutsu as well.
He would bolster his forces with S-rank shinobi and kunoichi alike through it. And once more, the greatness of Konoha would flourish.
…Still, that was a little ways off for anyone barring the likes of Anko though, and Jiraiya.
He should definitely get around to giving Jiraiya the Heavenly Seal. 'Once I get back.' he decided.
Jiraiya with the Sage Transformation, and the ability to gather natural energy for Senjutsu through the seal, without Ma and Pa, would surely put him above the Six Paths Of Pein.
"Well, it's the old fashioned for me either way, once your father learns enough," Daiki mused, looking at the chameleon, "And you never did say how well he's doing."
Toka rolled her rippled eyes, "That should be telling enough, he has already finished." she replied, and Daiki blinked in surprise, a little bit stunned.
"So quickly?" he gaped at her.
"Father spent fifty years in place, rarely moving at all, disguised as castle," she said blandly, "And has known the Snake Clans version of Senjutsu since long before then. Did you really think it would take him long at all, to master the Toads version as well?"
"…Kind of yeah," Daiki admitted, "I mean, like I said. You don't really learn the Snake Senjutsu more as you survive the process."
"Perhaps, but father still has had the experience of using Senjutsu regardless for decades to get a feel for it," Toka shrugged her reptilian head, "He, as always is ready anytime you need to call upon him."
"Good to know the Chameleon clan is as reliable as always." he laughed lightly. Truly, his summons were the best!
"And don't you forget it," Toka preened smugly, "Now then, since you feel the need to withhold the next mission, I see no reason to hang around this dreary forest with you. Be sure to summon me when you need me for it."
And with that, she disappeared in a puff of smoke returning to the realm of the Chameleon Clan.
"Pleasant as always Toka," Daiki snorted, rolling his eyes. With her gone, he turned his attention back to the massive concrete snake maw working as the entrance to Orochimaru's base, and lifted one hand into the air, his eyes swirling into the familiar pattern of his mangekyou, "Kagatsushin." he declared, and clenched his fist.
Immediately, the ground began to rumble and shake before splitting apart at the seams. The very forest fell apart around him, trees toppling and animals fleeing in terror as a titanic stone serpent was pulled from the ground itself. Over a thousand feet long and wider than most buildings, it rose high into the air by his command.
All thanks to his markers that he'd spread throughout the base to use his technique through.
And a moment later, the world rippled around him as he left it behind and was transported directly into his personal dimension and dragged Orochimaru's base along with him.
And all the technology within.
Once he appeared in his personal realm, the inky black sky overshadowing him Daiki lowered his hand and gently the massive serpentine base was laid on the ground.
"What a weird aesthetic." Daiki couldn't help but shake his head as he looked it over. It was masterfully crafted for sure, and massive. But, again, it was the shape of an enormous serpent, spanning over a thousand feet long.
He supposed there was a reason Orochimaru made it underground. Though why he would leave the entrance so blatantly in view in view, and in so obviously made by him with the aesthetics of it he couldn't under-
Ah no wait, he could. Honestly, thinking on it, it wasn't really that deep to be honest.
Orochimaru was just an arrogant cunt. Of the highest order. He probably didn't even entertain the idea that making his base in the shape of a serpent would come back to bite him in the ass.
…And well, actually. He supposed it hadn't, it was his other nonsense that came back to bite him in the ass.
'Speaking of Orochimaru though.' Daiki grinned, rubbing his hands together. A little bit of excitement pulsed in in the blood running through his veins.
With Orochimaru under his control, and all this technology…
Yes, he could do it!
Finally! Finally, one of the greatest things he desired in this world would come into fruition!
