Around four in the morning, a car slowly pulled into the driveway. The engine shut off and the headlights faded. Yasu stepped out first, stretching his stiff shoulders from the long flight. Glancing toward the house, he frowned slightly when he noticed that the living room lights were still on, glowing softly through the curtains.
“You think they waited up for us?” Yasu asked, his lips curving into a hopeful smile at the thought of Kaito refusing to sleep until he came home.
Ryu alighted then followed his gaze. He felt a warmth spread quietly through his chest as Aito’s face crossed his mind.
“Maybe,” he replied as he locked the car and slipped the keys into his pocket. “Let’s go.” He couldn't wait to see Aito. It has been too long.
They pushed open the door and stepped inside, immediately greeted by the unmistakable smell of ramen and alcohol. The sight in front of them made both men pause.
