(Michelle Lui's POV)
By the time we reached the amusement park, the sun was still bright, the wind cool, and the crowd energy loud enough to vibrate the parking lot.
Perfect weather. Perfect atmosphere. Perfect… number of opportunities for disaster.
Great.
The van slowed in front of the drop-off area, and even before the engine stopped, Vince practically mashed his face to the window.
"YESSSS," he declared, pointing like an excited toddler. "ROLLER COASTER. HUMANS SCREAMING. ADRENALINE. I WAS BORN FOR THIS."
Jeff didn't even look up from his phone. "You were born to embarrass society."
"That too!" Vince said proudly.
Lara snorted. "You know what? For once, I agree with Jeff."
"Larazilla," Vince gasped, pressing his hand over his heart. "How could you betray me like this? I thought we had something beautiful."
"We have nothing," Lara deadpanned.
Meanwhile, I tried not to laugh.
