(Michelle Lui's POV)
When we exited the Haunted Mansion, the sunlight felt… too bright.
Or maybe that was just my guilty conscience sizzling like a vampire.
Because the moment Anthony let go of my hand, I felt it.
The shift.
The awareness.
The lingering warmth of his fingers still imprinted on my skin.
It wasn't supposed to happen.
We weren't supposed to get paired.
We weren't supposed to… almost fall into something again.
And yet—
"Ferris wheel next?" Vince shouted loudly enough to scare pigeons.
"Yes," Lara answered instantly. "I want something peaceful after—"
she pointed back at the Haunted House
"—THAT."
Jeff muttered, "Peaceful with this group? Impossible."
Kate glanced at the map. "It's a short walk. Let's go."
Jasmine tugged Anthony's sleeve, beaming.
"They say the Ferris wheel has the best city view!"
Anthony smiled politely.
"Yeah."
He didn't look at me.
Probably not on purpose.
Probably.
I exhaled and walked with the group.
