(Michelle Lui's POV)
The moment the boys stepped out of the boutique, it felt like someone pressed an invisible "GO" button.
Because the second the glass door swung shut—
"OKAY GIRLS, MOVE!"
Lara clapped loudly like a general preparing an army.
Kate saluted.
Even Jasmine straightened up.
And me?
I just blinked.
"Wow," I muttered softly. "You guys were waiting for this."
Kate threw her purse onto a velvet armchair.
"Michelle, this is Halloween. HAL. LOW. WEEN. This is SERIOUS BUSINESS."
Lara snapped a headband with black velvet horns onto her head.
"My soul is ready."
Jasmine drifted toward the angel-themed section, touching lacy fabric with the delicacy of a museum curator.
I couldn't help it.
I laughed.
It felt good.
Warm.
Familiar.
Like I was surrounded by sisters.
Costumes Everywhere
The boutique wasn't just a shop.
It was a fever dream.
There were:
glittery wings
LED devil horns
Victorian gowns
leather corsets
