Apparently MY destiny was to suffer.
Vince held the last scroll like it was a cursed relic.
"It says," he cleared his throat dramatically,
"Where light is trapped but never shines,
Where cold cannot freeze,
Where reflections lie,
Find the Watcher Beneath the Glass."
I blinked. "…What does that even mean?"
Andy snapped his fingers. "Easy. The indoor botanical conservatory."
I stared. "Why?"
He grinned. "Glass walls. Controlled temperature. And that frozen sculpture display they installed for ambiance."
Vince gasped. "It makes sense. You're so smart, Peng."
"Of course I am."
"And so humble."
The boys fist-bumped like two excited twelve-year-olds.
I sighed. "Okay, okay. Let's go."
