(Michelle Lui's POV)
Friday morning felt… different.
Like waking up with sunlight already waiting on the tip of your skin.
Warm.
Gentle.
Expectant.
Probably because Steven and I ended our call last night with something soft and dangerous lingering between us.
"I'm still thinking about earlier."
Why did he say that? Why did I let him? Why did we both stay quiet afterward like it meant everything and nothing all at once?
I stuffed my face into my pillow.
Okay. Enough.
Time to be normal.
Totally normal.
Physics Lab type of normal.
I dressed in a navy pleated skirt, white long-sleeved blouse, and tied my hair into a low ribboned ponytail. Practical but cute. Comfortable but still a little… hopeful.
When I stepped outside, Matt already had the Mercedes waiting.
"Good morning, Miss Michelle," he greeted, holding the door open.
"Morning, Matt."
He subtly eyed my outfit. "Special day?"
I froze. "No—! I mean— It's just Physics Lab!"
