Chapter 6 - Combat class 3

Luna also notices that everyone looks as if she is lying, but she didn't care what everyone thinks of her and this was true it was her first time even touching a weapon let alone this double headed axe. Mr. Grey Maxwell looked into her eyes and said. "Is this really true that you have never used a double-headed axe before?"

Luna, without blinking her eyes, gave her answer, " Yes, I didn't even hold or touch the axe before this."

Larissa and other students can't believe hearing what Luna has said, and they are still thinking she is lying.

"Hey joss, how bluntly she's lying in front of Mr. Grey, I'm sure she's going to regret it later on. She ain't even afraid of heaven."

"Yes Armin, how can someone have the guts to tell a lie in front of Mr. Grey."

"Ok, I see that you are using this double-headed axe for the first time and still really great at it, then the double-headed axe is the best weapon for you to use."

"I can feel my calling just as I hold the double headed axe in my hand

"It seems to me like that double-headed axe suits you really well, I have used a double-headed axe before and I know how to fight with this weapon and know some moves I can teach you." Hearing that, Luna had a small smile on her soft lips and looking at all the students. Looking at Luna, some students' gazes were filled with various emotions envious, jealousy and regret one can see in their eyes. If they had chosen the first double-headed axe they might have a good chance to get to know and talk better.

Mr. Grey well knows what everyone is thinking but he didn't say, since it's normal for students to feel these ways.

Mr. Grey Maxwell Main weapon is a great sword but the great sword is so heavy that no-one can lift it up and to swing with a great sword is out of question for them. Some students try their luck on a great sword but in the end the only thing they get is a disappointing result and waste of effort.

Luna didn't hesitate and said yes, after all learning from the famous person is really good for her. After everyone gets hold of their weapons, they assemble in their spot once again.

"Now that all the students have chosen their weapons that suit them, we will begin the practice, so you can familiarize yourself with your weapon." Everyone's eyes gleamed with the brightness as they would perform better than everyone else and most importantly from this moment on they would walk on path to become stronger.

Luna locked on too Mr. Grey with a dazed expression as being called professional, when she didn't even hold a single weapon in her life hand and brought her to the cloud nine. As she knew she easily grasped things and understood but being called a genius indirectly also completely different experience too.

"No sir, I come from a humble background." Luna answered in one breath without hesitation as she was eager to talk about everything related to her.

Mr. Grey Well is getting blinded by the shining eyes of Luna, it seems his one remaining right eye is also going to lose all vision because of such intense brightness. He turned his head around to another foolish student holding a giant hammer with all strength as she collapsed on the floor. She couldn't handle the giant hammer anymore, he swiftly ran to her place and held her weapon.

"Little girl, why did you choose a giant hammer as your weapon?" Mr. Grey Well asked the young girl, Her height is just 4 feet 3 inches but she's holding a 7 feet tall giant hammer with her both hands.

Girl look at the Mr. Grey Well figure, her mind went blank as she couldn't come up with right answer in such a short time when she's shocked and scared and the only reason why she chose the giant hammer was because of her favourite bunny girl Windy-Chan in anime as she use giant hammer to smash demons with her weapons. But she can't give such foolish answers to the professor.

"Uhhh... It's because my family has a giant hammer secret martial art technique." The little girl said with a calm and collected voice even though she's shaking in fear inside, her childhood friend looked at her mouth wide open. She knows her friend from a young age. Her friend didn't come from a well known family or has any secret. She also knows about her obsession with Windy-Chan, it would be more right to say she came from a humble background. No...no she's broke, she is literally broke.

"If that's the case... Then you should work hard and you can also choose a different weapon that suits you the best as the academy also provides the best martial technique to all students." Mr. Grey Well said a few words to her before moving to different students.

"Kealyn, when did your family get a secret technique? And why didn't I know about this before?" Kealyn's friend Carol said with a shocked expression as she's waiting to know this answer.

"There's lots of things that you don't know Carol and stop calling me broke in your mind. I'm not broke, I'm just a bit not financially well for while that's all." Kealyn said misty eyes and kicked Carol feet in anger, her financial condition is dragon scale that she doesn't like anyone touched. Even her best friend Carol isn't allowed to even think about this in her mind.

Mr. Grey Well guided a few students who needed help to choose their weapon as they could find the right one for themselves. It around 30 minutes for all the students to choose their weapon Mr. Grey knew that within month some of this students were going to change their weapons again as they would realise as the practice more that the weapons in their hands doesn't suit them at all, he just hope no-one takes more months to realise this as it would waste lots of their time to learn to use new weapons properly. Mr. Grey began to walk towards the stage to get everyone to focus on him.

"Since everyone has decided which weapon they're going to use; I will demonstrate the simple stance that all weapons wilder can use it." Mr. Grey stood straight while holding sword with both hands and took right foot forward and making 90° angle from his right knee, then he vertically swings the sword in front of him with same posture he swings the sword horizontally and then he pulls back his right feet back and left in front but just few inches gap between them not long and pull his right elbows closer to his centre of chest keeping few centi-meter distance between chest and elbow tilt sword lit bit on 30°angle showing defence stance. Afterward, bring his right foot in front again and slash the sword on 45° angle, he demonstrates three times so students don't forget this simple basic stance.

"Those of you who have chosen sword, dagger, mace, morning star, axe, scythe, halberd, saber and war hammer. Practice this basic stance with the wooden weapons that were placed below the original weapon, placed first and as of right all of you are going to practice with wooden weapons first and without my permission you are not allowed to use real weapons."

"Understood?" Mr. Grey asked as they watched students' faces showing different emotions.

"Understood, sir." Everyone replied in union.

"Good, now those whom I addressed first start practicing your basic stance and those who use spear, trident, halberd, staff and guandao focus on this basic stance that I'm about to show except for guandao and halberd user sword moves aren't for you spearman." Mr. Grey stood straight holding the spear with both hands and then pulled his right leg behind and pulled the spear back with his left in the middle of the polearm and right couple inches away and thrust the spear forward. For the second stance keeping the footing same as before, rotate the spear in air in circular motion and then thrust the spear forward. In third stance keeping footing gap small between both legs this time, Mr. Grey hit the spear blunt side of the polearm on the floor with the spear tilting on a 310°angle and then moving back the legs with slightest movement to make a basic defence stance. for the fourth stance, bringing right foot forward with bending in 90°and raising the spear up in front of his head level in the air, while holding the spear on both sides of the polearm's edge to leave a big gap in the centre of the polearm.

"This was the basic stance for spear, trident, staff, halberd and guandao. Now, start practicing your moves and guandao and halberd users practice both spear and sword stance."

"Now, it is time for the archers, if you only choose the bow as your main weapon. I recommend you to get a small dagger, knife, or throwing knife for your self-defence and to use it for close combat." Those who were holding wooden bows in their hands went to pick up small wooden daggers and long wooden knives and wooden throwing knives.

"Now, pay attention the way I use them." Mr. Grey moved right leg in front and pulled his left leg in back and got on their left leg knees on the floor and raised bow to his eyes level and began to stretch the bow string back as he released the string wooden arrow fly through the air pierce to the centre of the mark ceiling design.

"Stance will help you for long range attacks, where the target is far away. It will stabilize your body and there won't be any extra movement and you can focus better at your aim." Next Mr. Grey holds two throwing knives in his hands with knives blade below the fist while tightly holding the handle, he brings his right hand close to his face and left hand at his heart.

"Remember, throwing knives can work as defence to protect key points in the body, our head and our heart and hold throwing knives like this in your hands and attack with punching in the air and swift arch motion punch. Pretty much like boxing. For the target practice for archery and throwing knives, the target zone is outside at the back of the building but first focus on your knife skill like I just showed you and the one with the dagger uses the sword stance with your dagger."

Afterwards Mr. Grey helped every student individually observe their posture and the way they execute their basic offence and defence stance needed helped with correcting posture and ruled out where they were making mistakes, after one hour completed Mr. Grey to demonstrate different technique that needed execute with some difficulties but few students whom you can count on your one hand were flawlessly demonstrating these offence and defence move. But other weren't surprised either as they also know they individual must have comes from clan or sect, even that chances are for them from being clan is much higher than being from sect as most of people who joined sect doesn't join any school as they thrive better in sect environment.
