Thor angrily stared at Jack, his expression becoming increasingly serious.
"Jack, you bastard. Hand over the Tesseract. That does not belong to you."
Jack looked at Thor calmly, without the slightest trace of fear. The Tesseract was floating quietly within his possession, its blue light occasionally flickering across his body.
"You want the Tesseract? In my hands, it is my thing. If you have the skill, you can snatch it. Can you achieve it?"
Thor's grip around Mjolnir tightened.
He hated Jack's attitude.
Jack behaved as though everything in the universe belonged to him. The Tesseract was an artifact of immense importance to Asgard, yet Jack casually claimed it as his own.
"Jane?"
Jane looked toward Thor.
"Thor?"
Thor turned his attention toward her.
"Jane, stay away from this fellow. He is really dangerous."
Jane shook her head.
"He will not hurt me."
Thor looked at her with an uncomfortable expression.
"It is your choice. If something happens, don't blame me for not warning you."
Jane gave a small nod before looking at Thor curiously.
"Thank you for your concern. But why are you looking for Jack? Is it because of the Tesseract?"
Thor immediately became serious.
"The Tesseract belongs to Asgard. More than a thousand years ago, it was lost and eventually came to Earth. Now I must bring it back to Asgard."
Jack smiled faintly.
"Everything is called Asgard's. It belongs to the universe, yet you claim it according to your own rules. Is it really that simple?"
Thor frowned.
Jack continued with a mocking smile.
"If you want me to give you the Tesseract, show me that you have the skill to take it."
"Hateful!"
Thor could no longer tolerate Jack's provocations.
He stepped forward, ready to attack.
Jane immediately spoke.
"Thor, calm down. Don't be so impulsive."
She turned toward Jack.
"Jack, can't you just talk to Thor properly?"
Jack shrugged.
"Fine. Then I will give him some face."
Thor immediately refused.
"I do not need your face."
Jack gave him an amused look.
"You really are stubborn."
He then became slightly more serious.
"First, let me explain one thing. The Tesseract is impossible for me to simply give you. However, you don't have the ability to rob it from my hands either."
Thor stared at him.
Jack continued.
"Thor, if you want to return to Asgard, I can actually send you back."
Thor's expression changed slightly.
"You would do that?"
There was suspicion in his eyes.
He knew Jack too well, or at least he believed he did. A man like Jack would never perform an act of kindness without some hidden purpose.
"Can you really have such good intentions?"
Jack laughed.
"This means my way of doing things is whatever I want. I can kill someone or save someone in an instant. There is no particular reason. If I feel like doing something, I do it."
Thor remained silent.
His mind quickly considered the situation.
Jack was right about one thing. If Thor tried to seize the Tesseract by force, there was a very high possibility that he would fail. Jack's power was simply too strange and too overwhelming.
But if Jack was willing to return him to Asgard, there had to be some reason behind it.
"What goal do you have?"
Thor's face became vigilant.
Jack shook his head.
"I told you, you always make a simple matter complicated. Father wants to do a good deed peacefully, and somehow even that becomes difficult."
Thor's expression hardened.
"The sins you have committed are too deep. No one will choose to believe someone like you."
Jack smiled.
"Fine. Jane, you saw it yourself. He doesn't believe me. It doesn't matter. That's his problem."
Jack turned slightly.
"We're leaving."
"Wait."
Thor immediately called out.
Jack stopped and looked back.
"Father's patience is especially limited. You are becoming like a talkative woman."
Thor forcefully suppressed his anger.
"Are you really willing to send me back?"
Jack looked at him as though Thor had asked an incredibly strange question.
"Do you think there is anything on your body worth me stealing?"
Thor's face darkened.
Jack continued.
"Don't think too much. Besides, I want to do a good deed all the way. I can use the Tesseract's energy to restore your Rainbow Bridge."
Thor's eyes widened.
"Use the Tesseract's energy to restore the Rainbow Bridge?"
He paused.
"That is indeed a good method."
Then Thor's expression suddenly changed.
"Wait. Do you also want to go to Asgard?"
Jack shrugged.
"What is the problem with that? If I don't go to Asgard, how can I help you restore the Rainbow Bridge with the Tesseract?"
Thor's expression immediately became cold.
"That is impossible."
His voice became firm.
"You were forbidden from entering Asgard forever. The sins you committed against Asgard cannot simply be forgiven."
Jane looked at Jack with surprise.
"What did you do to Asgard?"
Jack thought for a moment.
"Nothing much. Their capital, the Immortal Palace, was destroyed. Something like that."
Jane's mouth opened slightly.
"That is what you call nothing?"
She finally understood why Thor hated Jack so much.
"No wonder Thor hates you like this."
Jack waved his hand dismissively.
"He isn't a beauty. Whether he hates me or not doesn't matter."
Thor glared at Jack.
"Jack, give up any idea of committing another crime against Asgard."
Jack's smile became wider.
"That isn't something you can decide. If I want to go to Asgard, I can go there immediately."
He raised one hand.
"However, you can rest assured. This time, when I go to Asgard, I don't plan to commit any crimes."
Thor stared at him suspiciously.
"You think I believe you?"
"You can believe me if you want."
Jack turned toward Jane.
"Idle talk is boring. We will see each other again."
He smiled.
"Jane, I will take you to Asgard to play. How about taking a look at the legendary world of the gods?"
Jane froze.
"Go to Asgard?"
The thought immediately filled her mind with countless questions.
As a scientist, she had spent years studying strange phenomena, astrophysics, wormholes, and things that most people would never even believe existed.
But Asgard?
The realm of gods?
Part of her was frightened.
Another part was incredibly curious.
Thor, however, immediately objected.
"Give up that idea!"
He raised Mjolnir and threw it toward Jack.
Jack reacted instantly.
He wrapped his arms around Jane and disappeared from his original position.
Mjolnir tore through the space where they had been standing only a moment before.
Jack appeared behind Thor.
"Too slow."
He casually kicked Thor in the butt.
"Ah!"
Thor let out a painful roar and fell forward, landing heavily on the ground.
Jack dusted his hands.
"Thor, you cannot stop me. Save your strength."
Thor immediately got up, his face filled with anger.
"If you have the skill, don't use Teleport. Fight me directly!"
Jack looked at him as though Thor had just said something incredibly foolish.
"Your brain doesn't have a problem, does it?"
He shook his head.
"You want a fight, but the fight must be conducted according to your rules? I've really had enough of your foolishness."
Jack waved his hand.
"I am going to Asgard. You can continue playing around on Earth."
"Wait."
Thor's voice became deeper.
Jack looked back.
"You're not going to fool me."
Jack smiled.
"What now?"
Thor turned around.
"Didn't you say you were leaving?"
Jack shrugged.
"I was only playing with you."
He glanced at Jane.
"Jane and I are going to Asgard anyway. It would be meaningless to go without taking your route."
Thor narrowed his eyes.
"What goal do you have in Asgard?"
Jack shook his head.
"I feel that it is necessary. You simply don't need to worry about it."
He looked directly at Thor.
"You don't have a choice. I am going to Asgard."
Thor's expression became cold.
"Going there will make it difficult for you to return."
Jack laughed.
"Then I suppose I'll just have to see."
Thor sighed.
"There is another person you must take with you."
Jack raised an eyebrow.
"Loki?"
A smile appeared on his face.
"He didn't die? That fellow really is like a cockroach. His life is incredibly tenacious."
Thor did not answer.
Instead, he turned and flew toward the sky.
"Come with me."
Jack immediately followed, carrying Jane in his arms.
Jane looked around as they flew through the sky, her eyes filled with curiosity.
She still couldn't believe what was happening.
Only recently, she had been investigating strange gravitational anomalies.
Now she was flying through the sky with Jack and heading toward Asgard, a place she had once considered nothing more than a myth.
Thor led them to an abandoned, broken building.
The structure looked ancient and neglected, its walls cracked and its interior covered in dust. It was completely different from the glorious Asgard Jane had imagined.
Thor landed and walked inside.
Jack followed with Jane.
Inside the broken room, Loki was sitting on a chair.
His hands and feet were bound by thick iron chains.
Even though he was imprisoned, Loki's expression remained calm.
His green eyes immediately settled on Thor.
Then they moved toward Jack.
A faint smile appeared on his face.
"Elder brother, I never expected you to bring a guest to visit me."
Loki's smile became wider.
"Moreover, such a famous guest. Mr. Jack."
He looked Jack up and down.
"To be able to see you here is truly a pleasure."
Jack looked at Loki.
Loki.
The God of Mischief.
The man who had once brought an army through the Tesseract and attacked New York.
Jack's expression became interested.
"Well, well."
He smiled.
"Loki."
Loki's eyes narrowed slightly.
It was impossible to tell what he was thinking.
Thor looked between the two men.
"Jack, this is Loki. He is the person I told you about."
Jack nodded.
"I know who he is."
Loki smiled.
"Of course you do."
His voice carried a faint hint of amusement.
"Someone like you should naturally know someone like me."
Jane quietly observed Loki.
Everything about him made her uncomfortable.
Unlike Thor, who was straightforward and direct, Loki's presence felt completely different. His words were polite, but there was always something hidden behind them.
Jack, however, didn't seem bothered at all.
Instead, he looked strangely interested.
"Thor, you really brought me to see this fellow."
Thor's expression remained serious.
"He is coming with us."
Loki raised an eyebrow.
"Coming with you?"
His gaze shifted toward Jack.
"This should be interesting."
Jack smiled.
"Don't worry, Loki. We will have plenty of time to talk."
The atmosphere inside the broken room suddenly became strange.
Thor remained cautious.
Loki was smiling.
Jane was confused.
And Jack looked as though he had just found something entertaining.
Outside, thunder continued to rumble across the distant sky.
The journey to Asgard had not even truly begun yet.
But Jack's arrival had already made the future of Asgard far more unpredictable.
