Chapter 17 - Chapter 15: All Might and Captain Falcon

Chapter 15: All Might and Captain FalconAuthor: Geraint(MC's POV)

Alone in the corridor of the hospital, with Nighteye and Principal Nezu observing from a distance, All Might and I stood facing each other in silence.

"To think the kid I saved during that incident turned out to be Captain Falcon himself… I never imagined you'd survive that massive explosion," he said quietly.

"Yeah, I barely made it. My Captain Falcon form was wrecked, and it took me a few years to recover. But after the fight against All for One… I lost the ability to transform."

I smiled, shrugging lightly.

"The good news? I still retained the abilities of Falcon—just in my normal body. The bad news? My identity's out. So… goodbye, bounty hunter life. Now I'm just a penniless orphan kid again."

All Might studied me silently.

"So, what are you planning to do now?"

"Study. Study. More study. Then apply for a hero license and become a pro hero."

I paused, then added with a bit of sarcasm:

"Although, I doubt the Hero Association would give a license to a kid who hasn't even hit puberty yet. That's the real reason I couldn't become a pro hero like you wanted. Getting licensed means giving up what little anonymity I have left."

...

All Might didn't respond.

"All Might."

"Hm?"

He looked at me. I grinned and raised my right hand.

"Remember the Osaka incident a few years ago? We raced to the scene, and I beat you. The loser had to buy dinner. Well, I came here to claim my prize."

"What? Are you serious? That's why you came?"

"What are you talking about? That was a real competition. People were always comparing us—who's faster, who's stronger. Didn't that ever bother you, even a little?"

"No. I never cared about that stuff. I ignore that kind of talk. I focused on saving people. That's all."

Hearing that… I was honestly a little disappointed.

He never cared about the hype, the ranking, or even the competition. He only cared about doing the right thing.

As expected of the Number 1 Hero... the Symbol of Peace.

"Still," I said, grinning again, "you owe me dinner."

"Falcon…"

All Might sighed.

"And now, the real reason I came here."

"There's more?"

He raised a brow.

I looked him in the eye.

"It's about you adopting me."

"Oh, right—that!"

He coughed up some blood suddenly and wiped his mouth.

"I'm grateful for your help getting me out of police custody, but... what's your real reason for wanting to adopt me? I've got a pretty good idea. But I want to hear it straight from you."

"Captain Falcon—no... Ichika," he said, his tone serious. "I want you to—"

"I refuse."

I cut him off before he could finish.

"W-What? You didn't even let me finish!"

"I don't need to. I overheard your conversation earlier… about your quirk. It's transferable, isn't it?"

He went quiet.

"Yes," he finally said. "My quirk is called One for All. It's a unique ability that can be passed on from one user to the next. Each generation builds on its power. Those who cry out to be saved and those with brave hearts form a chain of strength—uniting across time."

I nodded.

"I already knew. It's a powerful quirk… but it's also dangerous. All for One will never stop chasing whoever inherits it."

"I was hoping you could carry that torch after me," he admitted. "To fight the evils that are sure to rise again."

I looked at him seriously.

"I'm sorry. But I can't accept your quirk. One for All is completely incompatible with me."

"What do you mean?"

I raised my right hand between us.

"My quirk—All for Nothing—nullifies quirks on contact. If you pass One for All to me… there's a chance it could vanish forever. I won't let you take that risk."

That wasn't even the full truth.

I knew that One for All works best with someone who has no other quirks. If someone with a quirk inherits it, the strain on their body shortens their lifespan. I already have too much going on in mine.

I want to live. I've come too far just to die from being greedy with power.

All Might looked stunned.

"You're the first person I've told this to," I said quietly. "Listen carefully—I possess three quirks."

"Three?!"

I held up three fingers.

"The first is called Superhero. It lets me transform into an adult version of myself—Captain Falcon. You've seen what that form could do: the speed, the strength, the power. That was just a portion. Now that my transformation is gone, those abilities have synchronized with my child form."

I smirked.

"You can call me... Smol Falcon. Feels nostalgic, right?"

All Might squinted at me.

"It's an impressive quirk. What are the other two?"

"You already know the second one."

I waved my right hand.

"All for Nothing. I can nullify quirks through touch."

"And the third?"

All Might leaned forward slightly.

"Riding Proficiency. I can ride any vehicle at a god-tier level."

I said it with pride, but All Might looked… kind of disappointed.

Can't blame him. That third one doesn't sound very heroic. Still, combined with the other two, I'm already pushing my luck.

Taking One for All on top of that? I'd probably die within the year.

I'm not risking that. I'll leave that burden to someone else. Someone like Midoriya.

All Might stared straight into my eyes, his expression unreadable.

"A child with three quirks… Just what are you, Falcon?"

That question hit hard.

I had a prepared answer. Not the full truth—but something real. Something grounded. And painful.

It was something I learned long ago—right before I was abandoned at the orphanage.

I remembered the pain on my mother's face, her desperation, the name she whispered… A name that didn't belong to her husband.

That was the day I realized the truth.

No wonder that man was there when I was born.

"Answer me, Falcon."

I closed my eyes and gave a faint smile.

"My real name… is Shigaraki Ichika. That's what it was supposed to be."

All Might's face twisted in shock.

"Sh-Shigaraki…?!"

I looked at him again, my eyes calm.

"That's right. I'm Shigaraki. The illegitimate son of All for One."

I took a breath.

"So let me ask you again, All Might. Do you still have the guts to adopt me? The child of the villain you spent your life fighting?"

(To be continued.)
