If they could keep hold of their throne for even longer and would not weaken as they aged, then they would choose to hold onto everything for as long as they possibly could. If I am not mistaken, then the water is not just healing or purification, helping to cure diseases and such.
From what I have learned from her mouth and the information I have collected, this water has the properties to maintain youth. Perhaps her body is something similar to a fountain of youth or some form of sacred treasure like a holy grail.
