"If you find it tasty, have some more. You haven't fully recovered since the last miscarriage, drinking more soup will help you recover."
"Okay."
Aunt PA watched Alice Robinson carefully, looking for any signs of unusual emotion, and asked gently, "Miss, did you go to the company to find Mr. Robinson this morning?"
Alice paused slightly in her action of drinking soup, softly answering, "Yes."
"Is Mr. Robinson still angry?" Aunt PA asked.
As Alice drank her soup, she replied, "It's not anger... he really has been very busy these past couple of days."
Aunt PA frowned in displeasure, "So busy that he doesn't even have time to come home?"
Alice finished her soup and fell silent, unable to hide the disappointment and sadness on her face.
"When you went to see Mr. Robinson at noon, did he not plan to reconcile with you?" Aunt PA asked.
Alice leaned gently against the chair back, responded calmly, "It's understandable that he's mad at me. I really went too far this time."
