The crystal eagle let out a mighty screech before using its sharp talons to attack Kaori, after all, she had noticed how she was moving strangely.
"Fly higher, Kaori-san!" - Tio exclaimed as she shot out to where the silver-haired girl was.
"[Sacred Net]" - Kaori muttered as she held out her hands.
Tio was surprised to see a web of light appear in front of Kaori, who quickly used it to catch the crystal eagle.
"Gyo!" - the crystal eagle let out shriek of humiliation as it tried to wriggle free from the web of light.
Tio was silent, for she had not expected this drastic change.
"Well, I was sure that thing would go after me when it saw that I couldn't fly well" - Kaori replied as she shrugged - "So I used it to my advantage."
The crystal eagle fell to the ground, rumbling in confusion at everything that had happened, and how fast it had happened.
Tio shook her head before watching as something flew past him at high speed, flying directly at Kaori, who had also been caught off guard.
"Why are they acting so careless!" - Remia exclaimed as she fired and hopefully trying to hit the creature flying against the silver-haired girl.
The strange white flash made an evasive maneuver when it sensed danger, giving Kaori just enough time to be able to defend herself in case the creature attacked again.
Tio stood silently, watching as another crystal eagle appeared, only this one was slightly smaller and faster than the one they had captured.
"Another one?" - Kaori asked as she frowned.
"I think this is the mate of the one on the ground, possibly the male" - Tio replied as she channeled mana into her hands.
The male eagle let out a screeching sound full of fury at the sight of his captured mate, so he quickly flew to where she was and used his talons to destroy the light net.
"Well, now things got slightly complicated" - Remia said as she watched the two eagles take flight.
Tio didn't hesitate anymore, she soared a little and made her body take her draconic form.
The eagles let out a screech of terror as they did not expect this change, though they did not back down.
Kaori flew over Tio and stood on her back with her spear in hand, this way she could fight without needing to concentrate on flying - "I'm ready, Tio-san."
"Ok, let's go, Kaori-san" - Tio replied as she flew against the eagles.
"Gyo!" - the female eagle spread her wings as she watched her partner attack directly. She began to channel her mana and launch powerful gales against her opponents. the male on the other hand, decided to take advantage of his speed and crystalline body to mimic the walls of ice.
Remia tried to aim at the flying beast, but no matter how good her vision was, the eagle was imperceptible to her.
"I think you'd better focus on the corridor, I can feel another group of wolves coming against us" - Yue said as she continued to observe the surroundings - "Possibly, that thing on the wall is calling them."
"Really?" - Remia asked in surprise, only to nod when she heard the sound of the wolves howling - "Ok, I understand."
Shizuku got up again and walked out of the barrier, while Kaori used her holy power to illuminate everything around her.
Tio closed her eyes because she wasn't expecting this, more so with how effective this ability was with reflective walls like the ice walls were.
"Gyo!" - the two eagles let out a new screech of pain as they felt themselves being mowed down, time that the silver haired girl used to attack. She didn't hesitate, activated her light spear again and shot out at the male eagle, who let out a screech of pain.
The female eagle screeched as she heard the pain in her partner, so she flew to where she was, ignoring the fact that she couldn't see either.
"Sorry" - Kaori muttered as she made her spear of light expand.
The male eagle screeched again before everyone heard the sound of an explosion, so that after that, viscera and organs flew everywhere.
Kaori could feel that a part of her wanted to vomit after doing such a cruel deed against a monster, but a bigger part told her that she had done the right thing, and that scared her because she didn't expect it to be so cruel.
The female eagle let out a piercing screech as she went into a state of rage after hearing how her mate had exploded - "Gyoooooooooooo!"
Kaori shook her head before spreading her wings of light even further and descending at full speed.
The female eagle opened her beak as her body expanded thanks to the flow of mana covering her body. She was furious, she wanted only one thing, to devour the filthy human that had killed her mate.
Kaori gritted her teeth as she continued to fly, she even deactivated her wings of light to make it easier to be devoured. She had decided how to end this, and though in retrospect it was disgusting, she wasn't all that upset with this plan, in fact, deep down it seemed like she was going to enjoy it, bathing in the blood of her victims while listening to their screams of pain.
Just the thought of it made her stomach churn.
"Kaori-san!" - Tio exclaimed as she saw how the girl seemed unresponsive - "What are you doing!"
Without hesitation, Tio flew after Kaori to try to save it, only to see how her friend seemed to be surrounded by a silvery aura that caused her descent speed to increase.
The crystal eagle watched with excitement as its prey entered inside its beak and descended to its stomach. Instinctively, it enjoyed the image of that filthy insect being dissolved in its stomach after killing its mate, though its expression changed to one of pain when it felt how its insides seemed to be rupturing.
"Gyooooooooo!" - the shriek of the crystal eagle echoed through the place as Tio watched in shock and terror as blood began to drain from the beast's eyes.
The glass eagle began to writhe in the air, as if it was trying to make an attempt to stay airborne, but the pain was agonizing. She didn't know exactly why, but she knew the insect it had devoured was the culprit, so she tried to regurgitate it, though it was too late.
Remia, who had looked up purely by chance, saw how from the crystal eagle's stomach was cut by a light weapon, only to show Kaori's blood-covered silhouette.
"Ugh..." - Remia let out a groan of disgust as she felt something get stuck in her throat, so she decided to look in another direction because she felt that if she kept looking at that flying monster, she was going to vomit.
Yue frowned slightly because this way of acting was not how Kaori would normally react; however, she didn't disapprove of the silver-haired girl's actions, mostly because with this she had done her job.
Tio froze, frowning because she honestly didn't like this, after all, she felt that Kaori was ceasing to be herself the more she adapted to Noint's body - "I think we're going to have to talk to her when we get out of here, this is worrisome..."
Kaori slowly opened her eyes and scanned the surroundings, ignoring the fact that the crystal eagle was falling to the ground with its stomach ripped open.
Shizuku gritted her teeth because it was obvious that there was something wrong with her best friend, that's why she decided to talk to her after finishing with the wolves.
The ground shook from the impact of the crystal eagle's body, and as if on cue, the wolves ran down the hallway in the direction of the group.
Tio landed next to Kaori as he gave her a serious look, noticing how the silver-haired girl seemed to be vacant-eyed - "Kaori-san..."
"Tio, let me understand the situation, it's obvious that her actions hit her more than we thought" - said Yue seriously, though at the same time she felt a bit strange, it was as if she had enjoyed the silver-haired girl's strange state, so she quickly shook her head and looked around, thinking that maybe this was the effect of some monster that they still didn't discover, a thing similar to the strange cockroach in Lyutillis Haltina's labyrinth.
"Ok, we'll still have to talk though" - Tio said while looking at the princess of the vampire realm, as well as at the girl who seemed not to react to her words.
