"You don't remember what you did?" - Shizuku asked as she frowned.
The second battle with the wolves was over, and for the last fifteen minutes no attack had occurred, which meant one thing, that Cloud was still alive and well, because if an accident had happened to him, the zombies would already be upon them.
"No, I just remember he was falling..." - Kaori muttered, only to feel vague memories pop into her mind. Her being devoured by the crystal eagle, her using her abilities to be able to "escape" in the most grotesque way she could imagine, how she had felt elation as she watched her opponent squirm - "Ugh..."
"I see you remember" - Yue said without looking at the girl, not because she felt repulsed by her actions, but because she was still watching the creature behind the ice.
"I-I... Did I really do something so cruel?" - Kaori asked as she resisted the urge to vomit.
"Yes, and we worry about it" - Tio replied as she folded her arms - "What was it that happened to you?"
"I-I... I... I don't know" - Kaori replied with a frown - "The only thing I remember, was that I felt something inside me, and then everything became a blur... at least until now."
The girls frowned as they looked at each other, after all, they knew there was something odd about all this, mostly because no one could have such a drastic change of attitude.
"Did anyone else feel anything strange during our stay in this place?" - Tio asked as she looked around.
The girls frowned because they didn't feel anything weird.
"I'm going to deactivate the barrier and we'll continue on our way, so maybe that thing will attack us" - Yue said while ignoring the girls' stares - "Remember that we have to eliminate it so Cloud can rejoin our group."
The girls felt their hearts stop for a few seconds before nodding, though Shizuku frowned because she noticed something odd about Yue.
Tio raised an eyebrow as she analyzed her companions' expressions, and noticed the change in the black-haired girl, though she did nothing to remark it because something told her that they were better off killing each other.
"Wait..." - Tio muttered as her eyes widened at the thought of this - "No, that doesn't make sense..."
"Tio-san?" - Remia said as she watched the dragon woman's expression change for a few seconds before returning to normal - "Is something wrong?"
"Yes, I think I know what's going on" - said Tio as she looked around - "If my hypothesis is correct, this maze is amplifying our dark feelings that we hide in our hearts..."
"!" - the girls' eyes widened, startled by these words.
"Do you have proof?" - Yue asked as she narrowed her eyes.
"Currently no, but this would explain why Kaori-san acted so different from normal, deep inside her the darkness of Noint must still exist, and this was hidden until it managed to resurface thanks to the ability of this maze" - Tio answered while shaking her head.

Yue and Kaori were silent before letting out a sigh.
"Ok, I'm going to admit it too, for a few seconds I wanted to use my holy power to eliminate Yue..." - Kaori said as she struggled to look at the vampire girl - "I'm sorry."
"No, I wanted to eliminate you from the race too" - Yue replied as she frowned - "I guess something similar went through your heads."
"The truth is I'm not sure, I haven't felt that way with you, although I can come clean with something, and that is that for a few minutes I wished you would disappear, Kaori" - Shizuku said while biting her lip.
"Huh? Why? I thought we were friends" - said Kaori with surprise.
"Yeah, but I have to admit it's hateful that I had to put up with so much for supporting you in your love crusade for Cloud, the worst thing is that you didn't even think about me" - said Shizuku with a frown - "You knew I liked him too, but you didn't say anything, you also didn't try to support me or say that the two of us could compete for his affection, no, you just accepted me supporting you and ignoring my feelings..."
"I-I..." - Kaori was silent, not knowing what to say in this situation, after all, she didn't expect her friend to say something like this to her, and the worst thing was that she couldn't blame her for being angry at her, not when Shizuku was right - "I'm sorry..."
"I don't want that shit, the past can't be changed, but I want to take advantage now that I'm coming clean... I'm not going to wait for you anymore, I'm going to start living my life for me and my feelings" - Shizuku said as she closed her eyes.
Kaori nodded weakly as she sat a little away from her best friend, not because she was mad at her for her words, but because she didn't know how to talk to her now that she knew one of the secrets she had kept for so long.
Tio nodded when she saw this because this situation was good, not only could they release the feelings they had bottled up in their hearts, but they could use this situation to be able to better connect with their group.
"Anything you want to confess, Yue-san?" - Tio asked as she looked at the vampire princess.
"Honestly, yes, but for now I want to concentrate on eliminating the creature behind the ice, after that I can confess without fear of the situation getting out of control" - Yue replied as she looked at the dragon woman.
Tio nodded at these words, then looked at Remia and asked her the same question.
"Uh... the truth is I'm not sure" - Remia answered while frowning - "I don't feel any different with you... although I think my negative emotions go with myself, with Cloud, and I'm terrified to admit it, but with my daughter..."
The girls were silent, shocked by this revelation.

Remia started to cry when she heard what she had said, though at the same time she was happy that these words were confessed by her when her baby was not present. She knew she could talk about this with Cloud, but there was no way that even with the effects of this maze, she would want to hurt her baby's feelings, the only reason she had fought alone for so long.
"Oh..." - the girls let out a sigh.
"Well, at least now we know something we didn't understand before, and with that we can solve our problems, which could create cracks in our hearts if we kept bottling them up inside us" - Tio said as she nodded.
The girls continued talking to each other, not noticing how the creature inside it started to slowly move outwards.
Yue smiled slightly, but didn't show an expression, she continued talking to her companions until she saw the slime shoot out of the ice in Remia's direction.
"Remia-san!" - Kaori exclaimed in terror as she saw the slime attack just as they had let their guard down.
"I've been waiting for you all this time!" - Yue exclaimed as her rainbow iris eyes flashed fiercely. She quickly reached out her hand and launched a powerful elemental attack straight at the core of the slimy creature, which quickly dissolved.
"Yue-san..." - Tio said with a frown.
"Easy, I was prepared, look at your feet" - said Yue honestly.
The girls looked down and noticed a strange glow.
"An automatic barrier?" - Tio asked in surprise.
"There's no way I would put my teammates in danger, even when we were supposed to be the bait" - Yue replied as she rolled her eyes at them.
